Re: What genres to draw for Otome/Visual Novel?

I've noticed an upsurge of fantasy genres coming into play when it comes to otome games. They usually follow princess/prince themes or anything royalty related, which I guess isn't always as common as school-themed otomes. I think sci-fi is also starting to trend for otomes though most of what I see...

Veronica looks stunning. I really love the different poses. It's also super nice how she has a variety of color on her outfits, as opposed to Salia's and Charlotte's clothes. Cute bird too. Now I really ship her with William since he has some sprite art with a bird too.

Re: Would you be interested in a Ren'Py Dialogue Editor?

I'm not sure I've heard of one existing before, but this would be extremely useful! I would definitely consider using something like that. Being able to export it as renpy code would effectively reduce the time to takes to put together the script. I like the efficiency it could bring to the table.

Hi, Sayumi! Just wanted to let you know that your art looks nice! I especially like the eyes on your characters; they look very expressive.

Re: Is my main menu art good enough?

Hey there! The art looks great. I think it looks fine. If you plan to keep it consistent, then the yellowish green tone of the images should be coherent with other images you'll be using in the game. I also agree with modifying the brightness of the photo. It comes off as too dark so somehow it's ha...

Re: Poor Sound Design or No Sounds?

I have to agree with morinoir. It would be much better for you to release your finished game with the full sound effects instead of having to follow it up in a future update. It might give off the idea that you're giving players a unpolished release, which might turn them off from the game, especial...

Re: Please Critique My 3D Art (DAZ Studio, GIMP, BeFunky)

I'm not someone who does 3D art, but I can say that I like your 3D models and I like how it generally looks (quite exceptional!). It doesn't look unnatural (in fact, it looks very soft and appealing to the eyes). I haven't actually played VNs with 3D art but I suppose I wouldn't be opposed to the id...

Re: The Thorn Prince[regency][BxG]

I finally finished reading the entire thread (yes, even the replies and all)! Everything is brilliant. I'm honestly surprised that you would aim for 400,000+ words. I feel like I'm already too afraid of how to even reach 100k (is that even possible...) but it is without a doubt impressive given the ...

Mammon wrote: Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:36 am No, really! When I say anyone can do it, then I really mean that this is just a matter of spending enough time completely unrelated to one's skill. Literally.
Takes patience and mastery of the wriggly line. If I am able to make a map, I'll let you know. ^^ Thank you for all the advice!

Re: Writing process: focus on story first vs. world-building first?

You can't do any of it on your own. So you think I can't do any of it alone/I should look for other people to help me? This is confusing and I just want to clarify. I actually might start with world building. Your world will influence your characters greatly. Your world will influence the types of ...

I would totally want to adopt a ferret. The character descriptions are quite charming! I'm hooked on the game's premise. I'll check back on the twitter and your blog for updates! I hope you'll be able to complete the game. Wishing you the best of luck!

Re: Writing process: focus on story first vs. world-building first?

I meant that just because they have something that isn't pure evil, they don't have to be redeemed. Not every villain who has a daughter will eventually turn out to be kind-hearted and redeem themselves halfway the story. It's a cliche that the people have gotten too used to and can be very tired o...

Re: Writing process: focus on story first vs. world-building first?

The "why" method is my favorite because it accomplishes a few things: 1. Develops backstory 2. Helps you get to characters' core motivations (important for writing them believably; I feel like Susie up there is still far from fleshed out, but it's an example) 3. Fits the character into th...

Tried this today! Congrats on the release. I do love the music you used for it; they really enhance the scenes you have (especially when Melanie has the encounter). Cute art (I love the mini CGs)and cute game! I really felt bad for Melanie at the start but I'm glad she got to meet Alexander, and I r...
