Megatokyo was kind of dead in the VN section last time I checked... Possibly the victim of self-destructing elitism on the part of some of the regular posters (jk... kind of.)
They pretty much only care about J-VNs anyway.

@EroBotan: Well, I don't know about that, but if he's going to make all of those assertions in such a manner, it would be good to know where he's coming from.

Re: Behind the Video Game Industry
Thing is, this is far more of a hobby board and general VN creation board. It's not much of a pro game-making forum where most people are making games as a job (and many probably wouldn't really care to.)
So...why so upset here? It sounds like maybe you had a bad day? : x

Re: Looking for a visual novel, forgot the name
As soon as I saw the title of the thread, I knew gekiganwing would have the answer
I played a little bit of BR but it didn't grab me, personally. Or I think maybe I got to and end pretty quickly which made no sense (wait, is that it?) Maybe I have my games mixed up.

I don't agree with the end message of the game, though I did still enjoy the game. I think of choices in VNs as like routes from point A to point(s) B (,C,D,E...) That is, it's a collection of paths from beginning to end. It's like if I wanted to get you from starting town Foopsville to an ending to...

Re: New to VN and curious about what's frowned upon around h
As said above, put in a good effort, make sure you have the right permissions for art/music/etc., obey the forum rules, and you'll probably be good
And be open to constructive criticism
Don't worry about making the BESTEST GAME EVAR. Just do things the right way and be willing to grow.

1 review, score 2/5 stars
That's not encouraging.
I'm probably going to try it anyway.

Sometimes I like to take a nap or just sleep for the night. A good rest is like rebooting your brain.

Cool game, oh Bloo one :) Nice and compact and satisfying. I can see why you won an award! Thanks for sharing :D Okay, okay, I know no one HAS to die, but can we kill Christina? Please? Her mom volunteered didn't she? Was she deceived (did I miss something?) Christina is the root of all the arson an...

Re: Hiring Background and character artist [PAID, long list]
Eh? How'd someone do that to my project? (Sorry for the stupidity once again :( ) The concern is if you hire someone and they trace/copy someone else's art. Then you're stuck with stolen art, and that is NOT what you are paying for (I hope :P ) My implication was that if someone were to do everythi...

Re: Hiring Background and character artist [PAID, long list]
*risks jumping into the fray* From my general experiences commissioning and working with a ton of artists: About the original post: This is unlikely to happen with only one or two artists, unless: * you're going to accept shoddy art * you're going to hire someone who does this full-time professional...

@DaFool: Reminds me of Crescendo... definitely a shoujo-esque quality there. That's all that comes to mind.
