Re: People Interested in creating KNs?

I agree with you. I think the issue is that there have been few KNs that push the envelope through art, writing, and innovation. Many people compare KNs to digital graphic novels, but with less variation. The question is with such a niche group, what can KNs do to attract more people? Granted, there...

You said you can write and program, right? Re: People Interested in creating KNs?

I don't think people are necessarily getting lazier...there are just as many people who seek out interaction in gameplay rather than a static format. But I can't draw or compose music. Having some artists and fellow writers to work with would be fun. Feel free to PM me or respond here if you're inte...

Re: How to promote your game?

I'm not sure this is a good idea. It strikes me that information like this has a shelf-life, with new things coming around all the time. dont forget that the articles are written by users that are like you and me, using it has a guide to answer questions will not help fill-in the truth about what i...

Re: Splashscreen animation help

Thanks for helping me understand that I can simplify the animation! I don't know why I always do things the more difficult way... I read what you had before the edit - and moved everything back to screens.rpy. I only want it to play once per startup, which is why I wanted to implement label sp...

Re: Splashscreen animation help

I want the background to appear followed by the logo (with sparkles) to slowly fade in and move up a little bit, followed by the navigation icons to slowly fade it right after it. Like this: https://youtu.be/zj4rKX5aK6M The problem now after moving the code before label splashscreen is that the logo...

Splashscreen animation help

I'm returning to working out programing on my VN after awhile and I'm having some issues. What is the proper way of doing this so that the opening animation on the splashscreen of the main menu only plays once? My question was answered and now I'm attempted it: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/view...

Re: What do you want to see in VN?

This question actually pops up on this forum about once a month now. I think you're going to get a lot of people saying, "First off - make the game you are interested in making." that term is so overused and not really helpful especially when the creator aims to create something peop...

I love how your work looks like an elegant painting. This sounds like an interesting take on the Hansel and Gretel tale, so I'll be keeping an eye on this!

Re: Does anyone else notice the quality change in fullscreen

I believe the primary reason is just scaling. This leads to another question: Would the upscaling to fullscreen issue be solved by having images/sprites imported at a larger resolution and then scaled down using Ren'py code? There is probably a tutorial how to do this somewhere... This might be a Re...
