I used autodetect in the test (modified exflip.c from allegro package) so I think DirectX was used.

I have vsync on here. I guess the explanation might be also this:

It could well be your drivers.
ATI is known to have drivers where the wait to vsync is not interrupt
driven but polled...

I'm still willing to do it. And I don't see any problem working with incomplete script because even if you don't finish it I as programmer probably will learn sometning new that will help my with my game in the future.

And I too. It will take a while to get somewhere with my project so I have enough time do that. (and I wrote little python script that do most of the hard work by converting text into Ren'Py script)

The problem isn't DirectX. Allegro (another game making library) don't have this problem in windowed mode because it can use page flipping instead of double buffering.

No Windows problems here. But I noticed when Eileen is moving from one side to other one (Move function) it doesn't vsync on this computer causing Eileen look ugly (also happens in 5.5.0). I don't remmember seeing it on my computer so it might be related only to this one.

I use CDs for backup and for small files also my e-mail. For simple backups 7-zip usually does the job. If you make shortcuts to your important folders, you can't miss them in a backup, so that's how I work... Shortcuts? Hardlinks might be more useful, albeit also more dangerous. Hardlinks + script ...

With RenPy it's better I think and windows version of Renpy adds only about 1.8MB. I would care about that size 6 years ago but not today.
