Re: What is your favortie book to read???

For novels: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield is a beautiful, arresting story that strokes my Victorian Gothic literature fetish in a modern way. It concerns a biographer who meets with a famous writer to pen her biography. As she hears about the author's troubled past, she is drawn into a ta...

Re: Umineko no Naku Koro ni

I asked a tech support question. Your response was unhelpful, especially since you didn't know the circumstances under which I obtained the virtual disk. If I need to prove myself before anyone will help, then here it is: My virtual copy is a straight rip of the real disk that I split the cost of wi...

Re: Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Sooooo... I am currently unable to play because I am trying to install the game on a mac with a virtual disk version of the game, but the Witch-Hunt installer won't recognize it. Any suggestions?

Re: Otome-related survey

1. If you had a definite female protagonist (with her own not-customizable sprite and a personality) would you like her to: a) Have her own name. - If the character has a personality already, then I think it would be weird if she didn't have a name. But I'm not someone who really likes the kind of ...

Re: Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Has there been any more news on whether this will be the final game or not? There was an interview with Ryukishi before the release of EP 6 that stated he was contemplating ending the series with this game. The OCD part of me prays that such is not the case. I would love for the series to follow the...

Re: Umineko no Naku Koro ni

WHAAAAA?! I totally forgot that it's almost August and that EP 7 would be coming out soon! Witch Hunt needs to hurry up and finish their translation patch! I've been waiting patiently to play EP 6 since December! T_T They say they're 100% done with translating, and have 60% edited, so hopefully we w...

Re: Really Quick survey on Gaming Tastes

1. How much of a completitionist are you? I will usually try to get all the endings I'm interested in. I don't usually try to get bad endings unless I know I need them (this is usually the case for games with those *ultra secret super endings*). 2. What's the most important characteristic in a game...

Re: The Third Ingredient

I think I'm quite fond of this game. It has a simple, straightforward air that I quite like. Kind of like the main character in a way. I was aware of what I would be getting myself into when I saw that it was based on a work by O.Henry. I think you did a good job of bringing his (often difficult for...

Re: What forums do you visit?

Mostly just DeviantArt. It's really the only place I see anime art since I don't actually watch anime that much anymore. I use it as an inspiration wellspring, not just for anime but for graphic design and other forms of illustration as well. I don't usually read fiction there, however. I also don't...

Re: original music service

Nice selection you have there, it has a very heavy video game influence. I particularly enjoyed Razh Theme and Abandoned Building. If I weren't trying to create my own music for my projects, I would definitely consider you. Although, what kind of rates are you willing to offer, as most of the people...

Re: Just watched Evangelion 1.0 in my local TV station

Even though everyone I know who has seen it raves about that show, I still have never watched Eva. Perhaps I should this summer. The movies look interesting, but I should probably watch the show first. I would hate to be as utterly lost as I was when I watched the Utena movie for the first time with...

Anime Convention - Artists Alley

Has anyone here ever attended an anime convention? If so, have you ever looked through the artists' alley? Did you buy prints? What kind of prints were they? Were they fanart or original? If fanart, what series do you buy specifically? What characters? If original, what about the print did you like ...

Re: *eden translation project gets slammed by minori

Americans allow their kids to play manhunt and postal games, but feel outraged againt some sex in a portion of niche games, when nowadays almost every cosmetic advertisment on the street is just filled with porn. This is a false generalization. Not all US parents allow their children to play violen...

Re: *eden translation project gets slammed by minori

Honestly, I can't believe that so many people in THIS OF ALL PLACES can't see why Minori did what they did. There is no racism involved here at all. All of you, think about how it would feel to know that your work, your very own precious novel that you slaved away on for any amount of time was taken...
