Re: Extra Life 2014 - Play Games. Heal Kids.

If I had streaming capabilities, I would be on this like white on rice. I've spread the news (and linked their website) to my Twitter and Tumblr peeps, most of whom are avid game streamers, so I hope that'll help out. Go, my 1000 followers, go!

Re: ERASER (Drama/Sci-fi) [PC][Android]

I don't have many visual novels or games on my cell (since it's a cheap-o, fell-off-the-back-of-a-truck model), so I'll give yours a fair shot. :)

Would you prefer feedback in the thread or via PM once I'm done?

Re: Last game you played?

I just beat "Portal". One of the best games ever! :D Although, I think it kind of gave me motion sickness in some parts...oh well. At least I'm still alive! Oh, I only bought Portal during this summer's Steam sale. I've heard good things about it, but motion sickness is a bit worrying... ...

Re: Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, etc

Ah, I love point-and-clicks! I'm fairly sure that most of my PC game collection in the 90s and early 2000s was developed by LucasArts. That, or it was a Humongous Entertainment game like Putt-Putt or Freddi Fish or Spy Fox or Pajama Sam or... ... :| I think I should shut up now before I bring this t...

Re: In the Air looking for beta readers & editors

Well, I'm going to be reading all night for work anyways. Another 8,000 words isn't going to kill me. ;) It might take a few days for me to get back to you, as I'm full up with submissions at the moment, but I like the concept quite a bit. Maybe this will fit in on my train ride home tomorrow. Would...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

I wish the best for you and your family. My own grandfather went through a lot in his life, and when I asked him how he kept going he gave me a few words of advice. "The first time you grieve is just as bad as the last, but you don't know that until you make it out that sadness doesn't last and...

Re: Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, etc

Oh, I completely forgot Telltale made Monkey Island, to be honest. It's nice to know that a company that made the summer between third and fourth grade awesome still exists. :D

Re: Megami Tensei styled sprites [Terms Explained]

Wow, thanks for finding these, Alte. :)

I've had a few people ask about sprites of this type, so I'll certainly point them to this thread and have them read the terms of use.

Re: Research tips about Japan.

To elaborate a little more on Lexer's point about funerals, most larger schools (such as universities or sufficently populated high schools in my experience) tend towards a respectful silence on student deaths and perhaps a quiet assembly of those close to the deceased (such as colleagues or current...

Re: Best Anime Ever Watched?

I actually haven't watched much anime since my high school days, which are best left forgotten. That being said, I do enjoy any and all Studio Ghibli movies. There's always something of value in each one. I think my first one might've been Castle in the Sky , which really impressed me as a kid for s...

Re: How can I stop making sexist games?

A think the questions, "What would be traits that make a female protagonist likable to you?" "What would be traits that make female side characters likable to you?" and " Can you give me existing examples of positive women role models in gaming?" are the wrong question...

Re: Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, etc

The only Telltale game I've played was their Jurassic Park one, and... I wasn't happy. Let's just leave it at that. I have, however, heard very good things about their Walking Dead series and watched a let's play of the first season which I thought was interesting. Did they make the Strong Bad game ...

Re: How can I stop making sexist games?

To focus on Taleweaver's initial questions: - What would be traits that make a female protagonist likable to you? Honestly, whatever traits make any protagonist likable to me: they have to give a damn about what they're doing. They should have reasons for being where they are now (whether those reas...

Re: Graphic Designer for hire (GUI/Logo/Advertisement/Web)

Would it be possible for you to post USD rates as well? I imagine that it would be helpful for anyone on the other side of the pond to know your solid stance on international fees/prices.
