Re: Fantasia, Realm of Darkness. 2nd DEMO IS UP!
Also, if your songs are in mp3 format, I'd recommend you change them to ogg, because you'll get the same quality but it will take less space Uh, careful with that one. Re-encoding from an already compressed format to another (mp3 to ogg) is generally a bad idea due to the loss in quality. You'd hav...

Re: WIPs with huge lists of character details
But I don't see what the purpose is of posting all that data in the WIP thread . Easy answer: Instant gratification. Finishing a VN is hard , and reward/recognition (if any) awaits at the end of a very tedious process. Whereas it's easy to whip up a 5-minute WIP post with character descriptions to ...

Re: Modus Operandi - Recruiting!
Thanks to AlphaProspector for the precious tip of printing out and editing offline. Sounds like a very good idea. Surely most people would agree that writing is as much creative work as any other art form. But obviously there will always be someone who dismisses others' efforts. The same person woul...

Hey, that sounds like the plot of GO! Magical Girl. :)papillon wrote:Guardian Angel
You play a girl blessed with mystic powers, but not to save the world - to protect the pure-hearted boy who IS supposed to save the world. (Basic gender reversal... You're Tuxedo Mask, as a girl.)

Re: GO! Magical Boy [new release with sources & help request]
Wow, thanks a lot for the compliments and the encouragement. Nice to hear G!MB is still fun to play! The story elements were pretty clear to me already in the beginning, but figuring out the details and writing them down took about one year (bearing in mind I wasn't writing full-time). Most parts I ...

Re: The Ren'Ai Archive (renai.us, RAA) all-in-one thread
Hi, may I ask you to upload the latest version of GO! Magical Boy to the RAA? The version on the RAA is the old release 004 for non-Vista Windows only ( http://www.renai.us/game/gomagicalboy.shtml ). I've just released 006 for all platforms ( http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13193#p1...

Small update - G!MB is confirmed to work on MS Vista, thus I'll upload it to download.com. Any info about the Mac and Linux versions, anyone? Pretty please?

Check file options.rpy, after the following section you can find the settings:
Code: Select all
#########################################
## These settings let you customize the window containing the
## dialogue and narration, by replacing it with an image.

Re: Backgrounds - your thoughts on this style
Sketchup is quite okay IMHO, at least I got better results with it than by trying to draw things myself (I'm pretty bad at drawing backgrounds). I've got some examples in the Screenshot contest thread and in this post of my the Cyberlin development thread . It does offers some basic lighting feature...

Re: Cyberlin - work in progress
Well, next update: The four chapters that make up the story are done, and re-writing/editing is proceeding well (at snail-pace, as usual). Two chapters are final, and I'm halfway through on the third. I've also copied the first chapter plus some finished graphics into Ren'Py 6.8.0 to see what it loo...

Re: A question about sound files
The reason why ogg is preferred is that it's a free format, whereas mp3 is not. Also, ogg is more efficient (smaller file size for equal quality). Also, re-encoding from one compressed format (such as mp3 to ogg) to another is generally a bad idea due to the loss in quality. Encode from the original...
