Re: King of the Cul-De-Sac [Action, Comedy] |Pre-Alpha|
LAST WEEK: Section 4 is FINISHED. Took longer than expected, since a few days were wasted trying to get a scratch vocal track done (vocaloid would not work for this project, and that makes me so sad), but all the images are done. It will probably be the shortest segment in the game, but it is CRAZY...

Re: A Salem Witch Trial ~ [Short/Mystery/Paranormal/Atmospheric]
That's a great looking trailer! As far as the price point, you can try it, but like a few others have said, it's worth using your first game to build an audience and make a name for yourself. You mention "One Night Stand" as a successful VN, but keep in mind the original release was a free...

Re: King of the Cul-De-Sac [Action, Comedy] |Pre-Alpha|
I've been keeping a weekly log of what I've done in /r/vndevs; I'm going to copy it in here week to week, in addition to once-a-month art updates. Got less done than expected this week, but still a bunch! LAST WEEK: Section 3 is FINISHED. Last week, I said I wanted to quickly design some "Rudim...

Re: Winged Cloud Worker Exploitation
I've been doing freelance illustration work for over ten years now, since I was in college, working with everyone from single clients on personal projects, to small teams overseas, to larger companies like Scholastic and Oxford University Press. This is all pretty typical for a smaller client- many ...

Re: COPACETIC! [B/GxROBOT; SCI-FI COMEDY]
I like the visual style! It's nice seeing more stuff break out of the norm. Which robot would you like to romance first? Pancake! Look at that fella! Do you have any expectations for a robot dating game? I kind of feel like the whole "teach me what love is" thing with robots is a bit playe...

2) its a gray area since the art is not being shown (or its shown?) and you using the art for commercial use? need more detail on it. In both the first and second examples, we'll assume that once the user leaves the game, no other CC Non Commercial art will be seen. The store page only contains wor...

Re: pay what you want and donations, commercial licence?
the creator has every right to sue you for obtaining money, the donation money does indeed(sic) count as commercial. I think the issue that Goobaboga was getting to was degrees of separation, namely: At what point does a non-commercial endeavor become separate from your commercial work? Now, if I h...

Under a CC2 license, you are allowed to adapt and remix; you can do pretty much whatever you want with it, BUT you do have to attribute the original artist. "Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any re...

I will confirm that the excerpt is very short, and the whole test process for me was under forty minutes.

Re: People Interested in creating KNs?
Not necessarily. Take for example a murder mystery game with a set number of characters (each with a very likely motive) and each time you begin the game, a new mystery is randomly (or procedurally) crafted with different sets of clues being found, leading to different culprits. There are no choice...

Re: Lesser Known Titles?
The most obscure anime I watched was probably Shôjo tsubaki: Chika gentô gekiga (but called "Midori" in the West), by Hiroshi Harada. It was the precursor to the whole "guro" art thing that's all over the internet (NSFW, but Eli Roth style NSFW, not "Cinemax after Dark"...

Re: King of the Cul-De-Sac [Action, Comedy] |Pre-Alpha|
Second draft is finished! I had a lot of feedback from the initial play test of the script, BUT fortunately nothing seems too wrong structurally with it so far. I reworked the endings a bit, cut some branches, rewrote the dialogue for a few characters, and ran another polish pass on the beginning. C...

Re: Stupid Question
Hey, so weird thing - I was thinking to myself, "Wouldn't the logical extension of this be an interactive radio drama? I wonder if anyone's ever done that before?"
Turns out there's a ton of them.
Anyway, I would also like to 100% agree with all the other commenters above me as well.

Re: Yumi-chan's Wonderful Cake Shop[BxG][Kinetic Novel]
It looks cute! I like the title treatment! Have you given any thought to just adjusting the colors of the black alpha overlay for the text along the bottom? Even changing it up to a color more suited to the color palette can do a lot to make the screen look more vibrant. Best of luck finishing up th...
