Re: Expanding the Community (was: Unique Opportunity)
I had triggered a somewhat similar discussion a while ago here on LSF from the "co-working or helping in production without payment" POV. They main argument against 'helping others out' generally boilt down to: "If it's not mine, I am not interested to help/work on it! Unless I'd be p...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.1 Released
I am experiencing 'choppy' sound looping with 6.11.1b on WinXP system. I have already reported it as a 'bug' on launchpad.
EDIT: BUG was fixed by PyTom! Thanky ^_^b

Re: Ren'Py Gripes
Another relatively-minor thing: when using the keys to navigate on-screen UIs, hitting 'up' from the top-most item doesn't reach around the screen and bring you to the bottom-most option. With image-maps and the like it might not be the most intuitive behaviour but it probably wouldn't annoy people...

Re: Jisei (Supernatural, mystery, commercial)
I'm currently thinking of using the "adventure game" style where you click on a door/hallway/whatever and it automatically takes you to that room. If you have the resources to do so. I tried that at first in one of my games, but dropped that approach quickly, because it directed my attent...

Re: RE: Alistair++ - New and extended!
Ah, all right, so it's like discussed in the Jisei topic. It's Seattle with lots of Jeapense touch and not the other way round X-D Maybe you should point that out somewhere early in the games. This cultural cross-over does seem to confuse the one or other player. Me included ^_^'

Re: Jisei (Supernatural, mystery, commercial)
There are a couple of (already mentioned) things that put me off the Demo, too: Chance suddenly being voiced while ??? isn't, didn't work too well with me. I am an audio person, I'd rather do without music, than w/o sound effects, which are there too few of. So the voices seem to come somehow out of...

Re: RE: Alistair++ - New and extended!
A right the "Gym Floors"! I did notice that the story writing had a strong North American influence (at least according to my prejudices X-D). That was what bothered me a bit about Merui. While I found her tantrums inside Rivenwell funny, in "RL" she acted too "tsundere"...

I tried the forum search but couldn't find any topic with "Camelia".
I discovered the game recently in the Games List and found it refreshingly hilarious =D

Re: RE: Alistair++ - New and extended!
Even though I am a boy, I like Travis most o_0 I guess I like his sharp tongue. The graphics are splendid. I guess that doesn't really need to be said again. Though I am not a big fan of altered GUIs it looks good, but is a bit too space consuming for my taste - it covers a bit too much of the backg...

Re: Native vs. international and translations
I am pro ones native language. I develop my "Kassiopeia" initially in German, and have a translation option for English. Of course it increases the work, but development in my native language is also for the sheer reason to counter that "global English" hype that started to grind...

undesired Sound behaviour
This is a bit tricky to describe... I use 6.10.2e atm. When adding sound(s) to a renpy game I make a lot of use of "script reloading" and "backrolling". I refer to looped sound with volume fades on whole channels as well as "fadein/out" on single "play statements&q...

Re: ATL zoomed transparent GIF and PNG have border artefacts
Thanks for the reply! ^_^ So at the moment only non-zoomed PNG/GIF should not have those artefacts. GIF is actually pretty cool! There's a reason why I switched from PNG "Character Sprites" to GIF: I get them considerably smaller, without compromising the appearance - quite the contrary ac...

Re: ATL zoomed transparent GIF got border artefacts
They are not? Here - below at "File Types" - it does say otherwise:

Either way, using PNG creates the same artefacts.

Re: Silent Hill - Shattered Memories == Silent Hill reloaded
I was wondering. Having played the original "Silent Hill" back in 1998 on the PSX - I recently noticed Konami's SH:SM in the shelves. Did they re-write the story of Cheryl and Harry and threw it back on the PS2 market?! What happened to Alessa and her mother?

ATL Zoomed transp. GIF/PNG have border artefacts [answered]
For a simple eye blinking animation I put the part of the face with the closed eyes into a transparent GIF (of the same size of the entire girl GIF underneath it) and did an ATL alpha blending. However it turns out that the GIF overlay got black borders (thin black line underneath the woman's nose)....
