Re: Looking for KN/VN suggestions!

Try DDLC (its free, but you can also make a donation) I didn't personally enjoy it all that much, but I do have to praise it for its out of the box thinking. I'd rather not spoil too much, but the way that game works, requires you to actually mess with the game files themself. If you don't mind mil...

Looking for KN/VN suggestions!

So, I recently started working towards the idea of making a Kinetic Novel, and made a few posts about it. However, in terms of what I'm most familiar playing, I've basically only played traditional VNs: GUIs with a static background, 1-2 sprites, and dialogue on the bottom. These only very occasiona...

Re: Cardians: Rural, Kinetic Novel [Horror, mystery]

https://i.imgur.com/LdAufR4.gif In lieu of game assets that I can't work on yet, I got permission from my friends to post SOME of the art we've made over the course of the campaign. We have a few artists within our midst, but of varying skill levels, so you'll see a variety of styles. Most of this ...

Re: Cardians: Rural, Kinetic Novel [Horror, mystery]

This is a super cool concept. I remember seeing your question about it in the Writing subforum, I hope to see this one come to completion. c: Thank you! I'm glad you're interested! Good luck! I love the whole idea of the world of darkness setting and especially the hunter path. I once thought about...

Re: Post-mortem of MMM: Murder Most Misfortunate, a short murder mystery VN

Hey, this is a really cool post-mortum and I think it would be awesome if more developers did this with their games I think it'd be really beneficial to the community! I think advertising being king has been the most repeated refrain from people discussing how to make your game sell better. Still, I...

Re: How to handle aspects of multiple POV characters

Wow, I somehow missed the responses in this thread until now. Thank you both for responding! I think part of the problem is that I'm so invested in all the characters that I feel reluctant to neglect their individual povs for any large length of time. So that leaves the unlocking and limiting to one...

Cardians: Rural, Kinetic Novel [Horror, mystery]

https://i.imgur.com/AAiNV6e.png CARDIANS: RURAL The Cardians are a world-wide spanning shadow organization dedicated to hunting and containing the supernatural threats of the world: giving up their own freedom and sanity to maintain the separation of the supernatural and mundane that allow the rest...

How to handle aspects of multiple POV characters

So while picking away at my current projects, I've been thinking about another one I want to potentially do in the future. A story in particular I'd love to bring to life in a new format is bringing a tabletop campaign I played with my friends to life as a kinetic novel. Pros, it's already finished ...

Re: Chronicles of cyberpunk: Awakening

Your art has a lot of charm and a unique style to it! It almost makes me sad the environments are 3d because I'd love to see them drawn in the same style. Good luck with your game!

Re: How to handle being scammed

I agree with the above posters, it'd be a good idea to mention their name here, but more importantly, post your experience in their commissions thread, where other people will be looking and considering them. Not everyone is going to read the forums thoroughly, so posting on the thread itself will l...

Re: "Pointless" choices

Generally I can't say whether pointless choices are something I like or not. I have to see each one on a case by case basis. However, the one type of pointless choice that I cannot stand is the kind where you choose an option, only for the character to follow another option anyway. Why even put tha...

Re: Various newbie questions

The RenPy cookbook is the best place to look for a lot of these questions. These are pretty common things that many VNs use, so it's pretty likely that someone's put up a guide about it already! In fact, I found this single topic that covers all the questions you asked! It's from 2014, so it might b...

Re: Ink's Blots (Critique always welcomed!)

Welp, I left lemmasoft for a few years while, but I'm back now, so here's a dump of art I've done in the meantime. Not all of what I've done by any means, but its' stuff I still like and can easily grab off of other places I've uploaded, so here it is. Most of my old links broke when dropbox changed...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

I'm without my tablet so I've been restricted to pen and paper sketching, but I've made a few things I've enjoyed. Drew a picture of my sad accountant-turned-monster-hunter from a World of Darkness campaign.
