Re: Accessibility in VNs (and games in general!)
I mostly work in web design at the moment but ultimately it's all still text and images on a screen. One thing I usually do is bump up the default font size. I think Lemma Soft Forums has tiny text, for example. Another thing is making targets like buttons and links as big as possible for people who...

Re: Similar communities/forums/websites?
I have two quick additions to make: I'm making a site catering to VN and story-focused game devs called StoryDevs . So far that site is a demo of what you can expect from the search, though being a demo it's just functional on desktop at the moment. If you'd like to read more about it there's this L...

Re: VN developer's web-conference Jan 14, 2017
From what I understand, the event was a big success; I believe the conference hit over 80 attendees, which is a really impressive turnout for a paid event, especially a first-time event. Hopefully it's the first of many, as I really enjoyed this! Yeah, from the stories I've heard many early games c...

Re: Menu Choice if Statements
Okay, I don't know why I'm in this forum since I haven't used Ren'Py properly in like 2 years! So that's my disclaimer. Onto your question! Firstly, in Python (and many other programming languages) when you want to check if something is True or False you can actually write it like this: # This is eq...

Re: VN developer's web-conference Jan 14, 2017
I'll be doing a 20 min talk at this about my design process using the StoryDevs logo as an example.

Re: StoryDevs — a site for finding VN devs
StoryDevs now supports gamepad input in the following browsers: Chrome Firefox Opera Edge There's a live demo on the beta site right now that you can try. I've only tested with and mapped the buttons for an Xbox-like controller so if you have a PlayStation controller let me know how things go for y...

Mammon, what does the acronym "CG" stand for in the context of the visual novel community?

Re: About CG art
The OP is using "CG" correctly. It's the entire VN community that's using it wrong. (This isn't sarcasm btw.)

Re: StoryDevs — a site for finding VN devs
I'll probably just leave it "languages" since it's clear enough from context what's meant, I think. Length of work... could be useful. I can imagine someone experienced starting a long-term project (say, 2 - 3 year dev cycle) and wanting to find people who had spent >1 year on a project an...

Re: What makes a good VN logo?
A good logo design should: Be easy to read. Even if there's no text the shapes and/or subject should be easy to read. Scale well. Can it still be understood even when it's small? Work in grayscale. Colour shouldn't be the sole method used to differentiate parts of the design. Be relevant to what it ...

Re: StoryDevs — a site for finding VN devs
Recently added Visual Novel Maker to the list of engines for programmers. It occurs to me as I'm typing this that programmers aren't the only ones who can have experience with engines... So maybe it makes sense to have some general section for engine experience. Anyway, here's the option on the beta...

Re: StoryDevs — a site for finding VN devs
There will be a skill option for testers, though the exact form it'll take is undecided at the moment. Regarding reviewing it seems like you're suggesting reviews of other members rather than reviews of works. I'm not ruling out some sort of system for members collectively verifying "yes, this ...
