pygame Framework Font Troubles

Oh no! Another font thread. But this is about the Ren'Py pygame framework. ^^;; I'm still very beginner with Python coding, but I've been working with the pygame demo. I've tried everything, but I can't seem to define fonts. It's driving me literally crazy, so I worked up the courage to ask the guru...

Re: (Very) short Pause

Why not use the built in animation function with Ren'Py? Better yet, the filmstrip function (since you have a lot of frames). There are shareware programs available that batch combine images together in one big one. I was playing around with 150 frame animations (looks cool, but of course a little l...

Re: Magical Boutique

An "endless" shop feature was exactly what I think this game needs. There's many slots for staff members, wacky ingredients yet to be used ... if nothing else, the best remedy to cure monotony in such an endless feature is having high priced items for sale in town. Some people (like me) do...

Re: Game Sprites

I agree. I think the different poses adds so much to the character. Beautiful!

And such in the Ren'Py wiki.
So yes, Japanese fonts work.

Re: Magical Boutique

Great game! I was thoroughly challenged and was really eager to please customers. I've played the game through twice, since it ended rather abruptly for me the first time ... because I was enjoying it and all of sudden everyone left. :( Well, the game mechanics are there ... I would've liked at leas...

Re: New cookbook candidate- need experienced coders' opinions

Wow, I'm impressed. I like this script/framework very much. I would happily play a game in this way. ^_^ However, I did stumble upon 2 errors, once while right clicking (accidentally, mind you): File "C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Desktop\visual novel\renpy-6.6.2-full\renpy-6.6.2\r...

Re: Idolcraft (RPG Maker XP)

Were you being sarcastic there about the tilesets? If not, it would be the first compliment in recorded history about the graphics in Idolcraft lol. Most people in the RMXP community (including myself) don't think very highly of them. For some reason there is very little in the way of modern city r...

Re: Idolcraft (RPG Maker XP)

This game is really fun! I spent a long time messing around in it, and I'm glad there happens to be an endless calendar function. There seems to be so much to do, and I feel the need to "collect" all the girls. I was expecting more of a reward for making CDs/DVDs, however. Like, a record o...

Re: Next Station

I really liked this game! Just the subway interface itself made me what to play it over and over. The names of the stations meant nothing to me the first few times of playing, so it was very confusing. Did I want to go to such-and-such station? =P Well, despite labeling the stations, I was very intr...

Re: Improvisation for a visual novel script

Well, I think the idea is more for fun and novelty than in an effort to make the perfect VN. I think it's cute, and I'd participate if it's done. ^^ Improv and writing aren't separate talents in an instant messanger RP -- you need both the ability to write well and naturally, whilst not taking forev...

I'm sorry, but I did understand him. He was the one making accusations that I couldn't possibly understand his endeavor. To say that I have not put as much sweat and tears into a project as he has would be presumming a lot. And it would be wrong. I agree that there is more work to do be done for a f...

Re: Voice Solutions?

And if maselphie has such a great visual novel or even ONA related projects to show us, then why doesn't she share them on the completed works section of this board? I'm curious as to what other stuff you've released in the past. I'm sorry, what does "ONA" stand for? I have not created a ...

You're on the right track with "if apse == "searched":", except implement it for the If statement itself. ^^

Re: Question about stock photos.

Yeah, if it's open stock and you follow their stipulations, then there's nothing to worry about. There's no reason to claim copyright on the piece unless you planned on selling it. Techinically, yes, when even you just modify something, it is your creative work. But copyrights I think are on a separ...
