Re: Freak-Quency (GXB, stat raising, sci-fi, comedy, free)
Downloaded this today and started playing it, absolutely loving it! Just a quick question though, and sorry if it's already been asked but I only have a few minutes on computer so haven't read through rest of posts, is it ok to max out all the guys bars? Or only the one I want to end up in a romance...

Re: Should I make the romance and friendship routes obvious?
Oh man, it's a toughie! I agree with you, trooper6, I don't really like knowing OOC stuff either. I would like the reader of my VN to have an immersive (is this not a word, it seems like it should be a word?) experience, so I'm going to rely on the writing to guide the player. I have quite a few var...

Re: Should I make the romance and friendship routes obvious?
Thank you for all of your input! I think I will probably go for the less obvious route, relying on the writing to guide people to the choices they want to make. A lot of the criticism for Bioware romances does tend to be that you can just keep clicking flirt options to get the 'prize' (usually love ...

Should I make the romance and friendship routes obvious?
In the visual novel I am planning, it is a single romance, and although it is a romance-focused story, I was still going to have an option for a friendship path rather than romance. My question is, do you think it would be a good idea to make it obvious which answers lead to friendship and which one...

Re: Single romance route VS Multiple romance routes
I think multiple choices adds quite a bit to replayability, and that is always a draw for people. But with a single romance, you can work on building the relationship into something deeper between just two characters and it can really add depth to the story. I played Aloners by sonnet009 recently, w...

Re: ████▓▒░ NANORENO 2015 ░▒▓████
I'm hoping to participate this year, it's part of the reason I joined up on these forums :) I've done a couple of visual novels (very short, simple ones for myself) to get used to the coding and art aspect, and am hoping to use NaNoReNo as an opportunity to push myself to the next step and try out s...
Re: Guestbook
Hi everyone! Harli here :) Been playing visual novels for a while and absolutely adore them. Recently made a couple of quick ones of my own to begin learning how to use the Ren'py software, which did so much more than I ever could have thought and means my imagination has kind of exploded with ideas...
