Re: Do you play protagonists outside of your gender/sexuality?

Drama is interesting. Melodrama is not. A lot of BL games tend to cross that line between drama and melodrama. It's actually a very fine line between the two of them, so it's not hard to have too much drama and fall into that horrible chasm of melodrama. I usually play protagonists outside my sex if...

Re: How far is your commute?

When I get to school next week, my commute will probably be about 5-10 minutes. xD But right now, I live out in the middle of nowhere. It takes a half hour by car to get to the nearest "big" city (i.e, one with restaurants, a mall, and other such amenities). Though, we do live 45min-1hr fr...

Re: Disney Princess - criticism, marketing, favorite

Hmm... Of my top favorites, I'd have to say Aurora, Ariel, and maybe Belle. I don't really like Jasmine too much; not entirely sure why... Aurora, 'cause she's pretty (lulz) and she's the original princess-in-a-tall-castle-who's-rescued-by-a-handsome-prince (try saying that three times fast); Ariel,...

Help with some kana (might turn into a game topic!)

So, I've finally got my external HDD plugged back in and opened up Ren'Py for the first time since the con (strangely, the launcher took a day and an age to load; might be Firefox hogging all my memory). I couldn't think of something to do that's not what I started at the convention (I'm still waiti...

Re: iMac!

one-button mouse This part, though, still winds me up. Apple have even made a multi-button mouse themselves, and ship it with new iMacs, but still my laptop only has one mouse button! Grr... Yeah, it's especially a pain when you are running Boot Camp on Macbook, as "right-clicking" with t...

Re: iMac!

For your external HDD, it's best to format it on the Mac to "Mac OSX Journal Extended," which Windows systems read as "HFS+." But in order for Windows to read it, you have to get a program like MacDrive. It's shareware, but you get a 30-day trial. Don't quite remember how much it...

Re: Is this a good idea?

Yeah, even if you're just asking if we think it's a good idea to stick a metal rod in your arm to help recovery, I doubt many (if any) of us have a degree in osteology. So, yeah, seek advice from your doctor. It's better to be completely safe and have an expert tell you what's best.

Re: Caramel Mokaccino

I know Spanish! I can translate! ... at least most of it. There might be some verbs that I don't really know. Plus, they taught us Catalan Spanish, as opposed to some of the other dialects.

I love the art, though. I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Re: Persona 4

I have the soundtrack. To be honest, I liked Persona 3's better, but... beggars can't be choosers.

I'll probably get the game, if I have the money. I've really only played Eternal Punishment and the Shin Megami Tensei series.

It's no rush, Pytom.

@Samu: Don't worry, I've seen crazier and even more niche forums before. I think the panel went pretty well. I mean... I was kind of near the back, so I dunno how well some of the other people did, but a few got working snippets. I certainly learned from it.

Re: Guestbook

Semicolons are the bane of every single programmer's existence. But, really, learning any language helps you with others, mostly because the basic concepts are the same. Plus, it teaches you logic ("if a, do b, else c," and stuff like that), which is something that's really important for a...

Didn't we get a picture of a bunch of us in front of the "1993 Re-enactment" sign about no Internet?

Re: Ar tonelico

That does seem kind of odd. But, I've seen it done before (changing something that's romanized into something else in the English release). I'd give an example, but it is a little late. Yay for brain fry-ed-ness. I know some people who feel that way a lot about those particular kinds of translations...

Good to know. Haha. Don't worry about the Narcissu thing. I just meant in terms of style, not in terms of "zomg crazy depressing plotline." You know, with the thin background and the text stuff. Well, the bacteria in yogurt's actually good for you. It helps regulate your digestive tract (j...

Re: Alright or All Right?

Personally, I go for "all right," because someone is "right," or "fine," and they're wholly so, hence "all." Two separate words that make perfect sense, and definitive sense, as a phrase. "Alright" just looks amateurish to me. Still, the way language...
