Re: Starlight - Now Avalible!

That was fun got all the endings, was so happy that tab enabled the auto skip feature or it would have taken forever to get the best ending. Great! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank PyTom for the handy UI features, I can take no credit for them! Just played and got the good ending. Quite nicely done.....

Re: What are the meaning of your names!? (CHR iN UR GAMES, TOO)

Starlight Character names are much less carefully considered... The main crew's names are all colors, this is both inspired by the countless anime series that use a silly theme to come up with English main character names (such as fruit, or desserts, etc.) and because the original Star Trek essentia...

Re: What are the meaning of your names!? (CHR iN UR GAMES, TOO)

Rocket is shorter than my blog name "Adorable Rockets" a·dor·a·ble (ə-dôr’ə-bəl, ə-dōr’-) adj. 1. Delightful, lovable, and charming. 2. Worthy of adoration. 1. Easy to love: lovable, sweet. 1. Lovable especially in a childlike or naive way Synonyms: endearing, lovely Delightful. Endearing....

Re: Ideas Dump

Like the one where she spends her winter with the traders killing rabbits to survive (man vs nature) only to find out that they're slavers who are after her. (man vs man) Best ep in that series IMHO, followed closely by the one about Kino's origins. Despite my desire to love it (influenced no doubt...

Re: Do you create a VN for your or others satisfaction?

I'm with PyTom on this one. I write first and foremost for the story, for the characters and themes contained within that story, and to which I have a responsibility as their 'animator'. Sometimes that means writing or taking the story in directions which are not my favorite, or in directions which ...

Re: Imouto mode - Automatic scaling

Since we're on the topic I was wondering if imouto mode could be used for scaling some character sprites down during play to create the effect of characters stepping further away but not leaving the room, but without having to create duplicate sprites?

Re: Four facts about yourself

Is a lawyer who plays Phoenix Wright while waiting for his case to be called. Omg, that's so cute ^_^ (somehow o_o) LOL! Totally deserves to be a minor scene in Law & Order... Actually they just aired an SVU laughably based on Second Life, they should do an episode where someone plans a murder ...

Re: What is really "Japanese"?

Seriously... If I keep doing it in my scripts, it'll be troublesome. LOL! But I think a discussion of moe is integrial in a discussion about modern anime culture. I think moe pretty much is the distinguishing feature of what makes something uniquely Japanese. I think Westerns are simply incapable o...

Re: What is really "Japanese"?

I agree with your arguments, as they are really logical, this is also my point - despite this, these kinds of production will probably be referred to as "in the style of Japanese anime", rather than "Japanese", simply to note the fact it's NOT Japanese. But maybe this is all ine...

Re: What is really "Japanese"?

There is often a certain air lent to a translated title thanks to the slightly-odd phrasing of sentences which marks it as obviously Japanese in origin, and I'm firmly of the opinion that in a lot of contexts, fans get used to this and associate it with the better titles to come out of that country...

Re: What is really "Japanese"?

So, to get back to the quote - what would be the significance of such anime? Saying hey a gaijin has "made it"? Well, sure... but... should that be a goal? Actually, I was thinking of it would mean that "Anime has made it." By which I mean anime (the whole culture and visual art...

Wah... I'm bummed I can't try this game! I even finally updated my install of VMware but no joy... similar problem to Mikey but complains about my graphics card. To me... * enthusiastic WIP response + enthusiastic Completed response = win * nonenthusiastic WIP response + nonenthusiastic Completed re...
