Hahaha. Yes, I see the point about Rule 5. But it's one thing to go asking people to join the project, or actively seeking or hoping for it; quite another if you're trying to get on with things yourself and these people just insist on volunteering... ;) Seriously: if you want to wait some time while...

Hmm, it looks like PMs are disabled on this board, so Eiji, you might not have much luck there :) I just thought I should actually offer to help, KOE. I'm got quite a bit of programming experience in assorted random languages, so I might be able to contribute. I'm certainly happy to discuss ideas fu...

Welcome, Lilika!
Ooh! Lilika will be doing artwork for TOL2? :D Excellent!! :) Well, welcome! (Um... to the forums, that is... I'm not really in a position to welcome you to Lemmasoft itself... Maybe I should say "congratulations!" instead?) I look forward to seeing what you and Lemma come up with! ...

If you're writing the engine, then you can get to be the one who determines the format, can't you? :) In practice, everyone's scripts will be a slightly different format, and so they'll have to convert it to whatever format you use. But that's not really a problem. The features required will be diff...

"Elven Relations" (now an IntRenAiMo 2007 game!)
EDIT EDIT: Elven Relations did eventually get finished, as an IntRenAiMo 2007 game! Read the thread here . EDIT: Elven Relations is now on indefinite hold . See post 7020 . Original message: Hi all! I'd like to ask for your thoughts and comments on my upcoming game, current working title Elven Rela...

Japan or America?
Oh yes, one other thing which bothered me briefly playing through TOL 1. I found myself keeping on wondering where it was set: Japan or America?? The street names and culture seemed to suggest USA, but the college name and Miko's name (amongst other things) suggest Japan. It felt a bit caught-betwee...

Fanservice
Haha! I find it entertaining that you're worried about *disappointing* people by not including much fanservice :) There are two things I can say here: 1) Take a look at something like Love Hina (or Hand Maid May, Chobits, ...) for an endless supply of examples of how one can acquire fanservicey or s...

Excellent! That sounds like a good idea, certainly, Eiji. The combination of the sci-fi and fantasy aspects could work out being an excellent setting - I've certainly liked it in novels I've read. Romance with aliens / non-humans is fine - I've seen stories before where it worked well, anyway. (As w...

Things people want to see in a dating game
An excellent idea to create this forum, Lemma. :) I know at least two of us here other than the Lemma himself are writing dating games. So, one useful discussion: what would people like to see in a dating game? What kind of things would you like to see, or do you think are most important? I'll start...

Beta-testers
Looking forward to the new games!
Well if you need any beta-testers... or proof-readers or anything like that... then you can contact me. Or in fact, probably a post here on the forums would attract quite a number of interested replies

I don't think that's a good idea
I don't think that's a good idea, actually. Or rather, I think it's an idea which would be completely impossible to implement properly. You'll notice that Miko responds to the specifics that you mention - for example, if you select "writing or drawing", then the conversation goes on about ...

No keyboard control = bad
It's irritating that you have to click the mouse to advance lines of conversation. It'd be good to allow SPACE or RETURN to be equivalent to clicking the mouse button, even if you still have to reach for a mouse for the choices. Bizarrely, in fact, it appears that even software emulation of mousecli...

Yay! Sugoi!
Yay! That was a cool game :) It probably helps that I thought Miko was really cute from the first time I saw her... Kawaiii...! I also like the way the options vary on different playthrus. I was the stereotypical "nice guy" and got the good (best?) ending first time round. Second ti...
