Re: Heart of Fire
Did you make the pictures for this? Where did you get them, if not?

Re: Are visual novels mostly aimed for males?
I disagree about the point that reading from a female perspective could make a male reader uncomfortable. However, I'm afraid the only eroge I've played with a female protagonist is still MOON. =p I've never read/played any eroge, so I won't comment there. I was talking about just plain romance. I ...

Re: Integrating a custom text editor
Hmm, I tried using the Ren'Py scite executable. It automatically ran with the properties of my system's SciTE, interestingly. Adjusting the path to this didn't keep it with a single instance, though. Hmm, I tried a few more things. It works, now! I didn't delete my SciTE, though; I just changed the ...

Re: Integrating a custom text editor
Would switching out the executables work? i.e. going into Ren'Py's SciTE and just copying that one over the one I have in /usr/bin/, leaving the stuff in /usr/share untouched.

Re: Integrating a custom text editor
unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH exec /path/to/my/scite "$@" chmod +x scite.sh, then use it instead of scite directly. Ah, it works quite nicely. Thanks for the help. I'm impressed. Hmm, now I just need to figure out how to make it so it uses the same instance of scite all the time, but that's a sci...

Re: MIDI keyboard players(people)
It might help if you told where you are living. I live in the USA. Can you get a midi-keyboard online? I can order online (that's my current preference, actually). Anyway, back on topic. So what you're saying is you'll give the music and all you want is for it to be played and recorded? Yep, I just...

Re: Integrating a custom text editor
Thank you very much for the info! I'll try it out. Hrmm. I tried it out. It opens the editor, but then it closed again. I get the following message in the console: scite: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2: undefined symbol: FT_Library_SetLcdFilter Any idea why SciTE closes right after it o...

Re: Forget Me Not
This is cool. I like the idea. The voice acting is good, but the guy does sound too loud and angry, again, when he is angry anyway (I think he can still safely sound angry - just not as much, though it could work without much at all, too, I suppose). The music is cool. The sound effects are great. I...

Re: Are visual novels mostly aimed for males?
.... If all the male-perspective games offered this to make it easier on the female readership, this would be a fair request. As it is, I think this would be unfairly compromising the female-perspective game. I was only referring to the male perspective since that was what I thought the person who ...

Integrating a custom text editor
I have a customized version of SciTE I would like to use instead of the default. However, I can't seem to get shift+E to work properly (even with the default editor). I'm using Linux (Xubuntu), if that makes a difference. Do you have some example script for how to configure this? The manual doesn't ...

Re: Are visual novels mostly aimed for males?
If there were no adult content, I would be willing to check it out, but as a male, if the female-style romance was the sort meant to impose itself on the reader . . . I would probably stop once I realized this (though I'm sure I would at least start reading it in the first place). I might skim throu...

Chibi (i.e. Super Deformed) art in visual novels
Do you know any visual novels that primarily use chibi for their art?

Interesting potential resource for Visual Novel music
I've been looking around for sources for visual novel music. I found one that seems rather interesting. http://www.magnatune.com/ The music there appears to be have some sort of Creative Commons license that allows people to use it for non-commercial purposes. I think I should look into it some more...

MIDI keyboard players(people)
Are there people out there who are willing to play songs on a MIDI keyboard and hand over the MIDIs for visual novels? I would mean to convert them to ogg files with SynthFont and some cool soundfonts I found. How much would people charge for this? I'm not asking them to write the music, or even fin...
