Re: Is the LSF community unwilling to brook debate?

Mikey, I think you propose a good material, that after another process based on comments and opinion by frequent/long-timer members, are worth for a sticky must-read position at LSF. Idea first, or harmony? What's our response should be when someone communicate an idea without any regards to local p...

Re: Visual vocabulary

Asian advertisement industry if not influenced, are totally originated from western media industry. In most part of Asia they are successful in portraying the image of beauty for women as having white skin, therefore cosmetic that didn't suit this image are almost non-existent (we found the idea of ...

Re: [CCG design] Face emotion setting method

I'm not familiar with how ren'py works.. but even if ren'py can produce that combination, I wonder if there's the need to have 108 face emotion set. However does this function means that you only need just one body pose file that can be used for various face set? Can you 'save' the set (brows1, eyes...

[CCG design] Face emotion setting method

Beforehand, I want to make it clear: small characters that appear on video games like Ragnarok Online is called sprite. So what about characters that appear at usual VN format? CCG? Bust shot CG? Avatar? For this thread I'll call it CCG for the moment. Recently I've made an emotion face set experime...

Re: Fun With My Job

What you're doing are no different than artists who drug themselves before making a piece. Basically, in the situation where consciousness (reason, rational judgment) weaken, unconsciousness will bring out images and words without the waking's limitation, at a dream-like quality. But do it man! When...

Re: Visual vocabulary

Deji: Unfortunately, people or family that respect their own oriental culture and teach them to younger generation are diminishing in number; if not rare, are almost non-existant. Most of us who live in Asia are swept by globalization and fascination to Western culture (Hollywood glamours, capitalis...

Re: Transformation Sequence beta 0.2.0 is done!

I played it in windowed mode, positioned it slightly upward so I can see character sketches with ACDSee thumbnail system in the background. That way I could both play the game and refer at the sprites whenever I wanted to. Mmm the pace is fast and very effective, but for a visual novel where amount ...

Re: Non-writers and their projects

Once you found a reliable (perfect) person both professional and personal, it would be a shame to lose contact with such person. Awhh... right from the start of this thread (and 'Dealing with Artists for your Visual Novel') I want to share my experience with The Imperium Project , but since I'm yet ...

Re: Yummy's little workshop

Compared to your last artwork the second is better at the skin, but the hair details are still not visible. Deji is so nice to point out through a re-CG. XD There are many ways for anime skin coloring; blocky cel-shading, Deji's doll-looking skin texture, to soft gradient shading with less detail......

Re: To Japan or Not, that is the question.

Complex and simple is subjective. You can say that anime art began by paying attention to eyes and mouth first, and the rest simple; block/spiky to visualize hair, small nose, cel-shading, etc (refer to Astro Boy). Only later that everyone start to put more elaborate detail on everywhere else. Meanw...

Re: Yummy's little workshop

I think you should decide first whether you're aiming for simple, anime CG or something more complicated. Three layers of shading is too complicated, and I don't think those layers are visible in the picture as I can only see 1 level of shading. Here 's an example of a very simple anime hairstyle, w...

Ah, once again I failed to make clear of my statement that it's actually a joke. have to remember putting some smilies next time :D To add masculine element to your guy drawing, I suggest to analyze and practice from real-life portrait of various kinds of stereotype: nerdy, celebrity, grunt; to vari...

Re: To Japan or Not, that is the question.

There is something I need to point out. To be honest, both works are anime-influenced. Why I made such conclusion? The style in the first picture is invented by working on using anime-esque way of drawing. It is heavily practiced when anime-zing is a trend. Think Disney's Kim Possible. Think Disney...

Doomfest wrote:After being able to draw males and females perfectly, it's time to practice drawing TRAPS!
BUT I'm not convinced. Prove by posting a 'perfect male' drawing here. perfect male, wtf?

Muscles that will quickly degenerate if you stay still with desk job (draw design design). Do you work out often?
