Disabling Clicking

I'm making a turn-based RPG, and the combat system makes heavy use of screen menus. However, if one clicks on something other than a button during this, it either skips ahead, or bugs out, depending on whether the next screen wants certain variables. I was wondering if there was a way to disable cli...

Re: Deciding what game to work on next

As a contrasting opinion, do whatever keeps you motivated for the whole thing. Length isn't the only factor to take into account in likelihood of finishing a project.

Looking for a Proofreader

Hi I'm looking for a proofreader for the following project: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=33038 Basically, my problem is that some parts of the script go far too quickly. I would like someone to help me identify these points so I know which parts of the script to lengthen. It...

My brother came home with straight As, so I get to go out for a meal.
I mean, I'm happy for him. Obviously. I don't just want steak.

Re: Imagebuttons

Same program, new problem :D :'( I've got a class with an attribute pic, and I'm calling that class to form a style so my imagebuttons work. However, I don't know how Ren'Py's If function works, so it keeps calling pic from Null objects when the party isn't full. I tried fixing it with this: style b...

Imagebuttons

I'm trying to get an imagemap to show some images depending on the characters in the player's party. To do this, I've got a player class which contains the party members as an array. When I'm calling the image, i used: imagebutton you.team[0].pic action Null() align (.3,.2) but I think imagebutton w...

I'd join in if this is a thing, although my timezone tends to mean I'm not around.

Re: Just rolling with your story's development?

I've never had a plot that didn't do this, so I expect it to happen nowadays. So I always think of a few ways it could happen and how to go from there, and roll with it if I feel one fits.

Re: How to run a successful kickstarter? (And a little more)

Do you actually have a 250,000 word+ script, or are you just partway into a project that you estimate will eventually get that big? If it's the latter, you're putting the cart before the horse here. Kickstarter is not the only or necessarily the best way to finish a project, and if you don't have a...

Re: How to run a successful kickstarter? (And a little more)

I guess I could release my NanoReno attempt for the year? I didn't manage to find voice talent but it's an example of a finished script.

How to run a successful kickstarter? (And a little more)

I've been working on a game for a while, that I was going to release as a free game, but people keep saying that for a game of it's length (~250k words) I should be trying a commercial release. However, I've never actually released a game before, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing. So, the firs...
