Re: On Forum Rules and Moderation

My stance on the forum's general discouragement of those topics not pertaining to VNs has not changed since the issue arose in another thread. Do we need an off-topic section? Probably not, but I don't see why reticence has to be part of the forum's DNA. It doesn't make sense to me, especially when ...

Oh! And it is on sale on Steam for the Summer sale. Downloading now...playing later.
Well, I'm glad! I hope you enjoy it. :)

Re: Non-Binary?

For example, if you are creating a game world where gender is completely irrelevant socially, then you wouldn't have to do much customization beyond pronouns and sprites...on the other hand, class/caste might be really important in that game world and then that choice might make a big difference to...

You might want to change your text color to make your posts easier to read.

Re: Non-Binary?

This is more meant to shut down topics like "What is your favorite color?" - I don't think there's anything to be said about why you prefer blue and I prefer plaid. And yet, such threads go on for a long time, taking space from more productive discussions. They may not be productive in th...

Re: Non-Binary?

There is also the problem that marginalized people have to learn to relate to dominant groups, but dominant groups don't have to learn to relate to marginalized groups [...] This has heavy consequences for us all as game makers. This ought to be remembered as the "relevant" or "on-to...

Re: Non-Binary?

Honestly, I get a little sensitive when I see people trying to create or enforce orthodoxy on the forum. That's because I want the LSF to be a welcoming place for all creators of visual novels - and that means accepting that people will disagree on many less-related issues. Trying to coming up with...

Re: Non-Binary?

Can we focus this thread a little more closely on developing visual novels and story-based games? It strikes me that these are huge issues, and unlikely to be solved here - and as they fail to be solved, threads like this can start to get heated. I'm definitely not disagreeing with you here or tryi...

Re: Non-Binary?

And I think for an entire person's identity to revolve around one word, that if changed, collapses... that's a pretty unstable foundation isn't it? You'd be right if identity were just about one element. But that's never the case. A term of address is one element. Why do people even need to place l...

Re: Non-Binary?

I mention this because I think about how words are constructed. To me, that's something important because people think about how words are constructed even if they don't think they do. You may not agree with me, but if you're looking for a meaningful conversation with me on the subject I'd apprecia...

Re: Soul Recovery Inc. (Comedy, Romance, Cheese )

I want to explain it some more but I fear spoiling it. God damn it. I dont think it matters if I spoil it though, its not like, you know, this game is gunna cost the dalloras. Don't fear explaining things. You're far more likely to drum up attention for your project if people actually know what's g...

Re: Non-Binary?

My point with your second quote is that I respect people not pronouns. I see no reason why pronouns cannot be disliked or discussed. I use "they" myself, and it's a constant torment. If I tried to use "he" it would be even worse. I don't see a contradiction. Like democracy, it's...

Re: Non-Binary?

I am not denying that there is inequality, and I have only worded dislike for the particular term "non-binary". I respect a person's right to be referred to however they please, I do not respect pronouns.[...] Also, seeing people praising their inadequate gender neutral pronoun substitute...

Re: Asphyxia [GxG]

I can manage to read it (the full-size image), but combined with the light blue background, the white, thinly outlined text isn't as clear as you want it to be.

Re: Asphyxia [GxG]

I don't know if it's just the screenshot tricking my eyes, but it looks like the text colors for the biographies might be hard to read. Are you using gray and white?
