Support for SAPI or another Text-to-Speech Program?
I've had a lot of requests from people to make my game more accessible for people who are blind, have poor vision, or trouble reading. My initial fix was to start making fully voiced games (including narration), but one person suggested integrating Ren'py with SAPI. That seems like a much better ide...

Re: AnimeFest 2014 - Dallas, Tx
Not anyone's fault. Dealer's room changed management this year and all my info was lost in the switch. They had to open up a new spot to fit me in.

I'll be at AnimeFest again. Sakevisual will have a spot in the Dealer's Room, so please stop by and introduce yourself whenever you like. I also have a panel on making visual novels, and it would be lovely to see you guys there as well.

Re: Alternative to VAA?
Are you planning on handling all the casting, direction, and actor management on your own, or are you looking for a casting director or group who can manage all of that for you? Here's a bit of copy pasta from something I wrote in a previous thread: If you're looking to hire off the internet for mon...

Re: Two Steps Back
Since the game isn't complete yet, I've moved this thread to works in progress. Also, your first post mentions the fully polished game on the KickStarter page, but I can't find it anywhere. Forum Rule 13 states that crowdfunding links must have some sort of playable demo available. I've edited your ...

Re: How much?
Prices really depend on who you hire and how much they charge, but if Kickstarter is any indication, low end VNs seem to ask for somewhere around £3000 and the huge projects are closer to £40,000. What you're asking for seems somewhere between those, but closer to the smaller side (not counting anim...

Re: Twist endings?
No matter what the ending is, the reader should feel like they didn't waste their time. If there's an opening question or problem, it should probably have some sort of solution. Even if it's not the solution the hero originally wanted, it should still solve things in a satisfying way. For instance, ...

Community Warning: Serial Stalker Targeting VN Makers
It's come to our attention that an individual has been cyberstalking and harassing multiple members of the visual novel community, often targeting VN creators. We've confirmed he's targeted one writer and one artist at least (along with their friends). He's also made references to having issues with...

Re: Would you fund via PayPal or prefer Kickstarter?
I've never used Kickstarter, but I did have a PayPal donation button on my site for a while in an attempt to keep my games free. My site generated a decent amount of traffic, and I did get some donations, but it took three years to earn enough to produce a single free game (with myself not being pai...
