Re: Critique and Help Wanted for Sprite Art
I'd really like to hear people's first impressions on the design and what you think could be improved. I assume the guy's left arm is bent at the elbow. (Or did he lose half of his arm due to an injury?) I tried to bend my left arm in a similar way so that it wouldn't be visible to a person looking...

Re: Critique and Help Wanted for Sprite Art
I'm just getting into sprite drawing myself, so I'm definitely not an expert, but I'll give you some little critiques! First off, all my artist friends tell me that you never wanna hide your hands! It's a habit I ALWAYS do with my art, but hands provide you with the ability to gesture and add more ...

Re: How difficult is it to make customiseable protags?
Code-wise, as the others have mentioned, it is fairly easy to do so. The difficult part is getting/making all of the artwork for it (and any CGs you may have those characters in down the road) can you believe i actually forgot that i'd need separate CGs depending on what the character looks like no...

Critique and Help Wanted for Sprite Art
I just finished a rather quick concept sprite for a vague VN idea and I was hoping I could get some critique and advice. The pose is a little bland - this was really just to get an idea for the character. Anyway, I'd really like to hear people's first impressions on the design and what you think co...

Re: Legend of Rune [BxB][Fantasy][RPG][Puzzle] Demo/Kickstar
I just backed the kickstarter I am so pumped for this game! The art is absolutely beautiful andd Mikhail is so dreamy. I really like it being a puzzlegame and not the typical battle-style rpg elements.

How difficult is it to make customiseable protags?
So I have quite an ambitious idea in mind - and my only real issue is that I'm a beginner coder. I want to make my protagonist for my VN customiseable - gender, hair style/colour, skin colour, eyes etc. The art itself isn't a problem, but when it comes to coding it with Ren'Py I have an issue. I onl...

Re: Heirs & Graces (commercial, BxB)
Recently bought this game and played through it entirely. I love the story and it definitely made me emotional. However, the game has a learning curve and unlocking romance scenes is harder than I had originally thought. A walkthrough would be nice, but so far I haven't had any luck finding one.

Re: Is This An Acceptable Art Style for a Dating Sim?
Keep in mind that even though you may still be a beginner artist in comparison to many people on here, often times if the story is well written it can make up for what the art may or may not lack. I actually prefer the colours on the transparent version; bright, saturated colours often hurt the eyes...

Re: first time cel shading
started another piece but wanted to get the light source a little better than just "eh" so I worked out where the placement should be.

Re: first time cel shading
Ah, yeah I do generally use a full painterly style, but I like the shiny look of the soft cel shading and wanted to give it a shot. Thank you for the tips with the hair, I'll definitely give that some thought for my next one

gave cel shading a go for the first time, and while I'm pretty happy with this I thought some people might have some tips for me? Especially regarding hair because I can see how terrible the shading on the hair is. THanks c: (the character is FitzChivalry Farseer, from the Farseer Trilogy by Robin H...

Fantasy Artist Taking Commissions/Available For Hire
Hi! Back again after a few years (I always forget I have an account here woops) and I'm ready to knuckle down and offer my skills. You want art for your game? I'm more than happy to provide. I'll do anything; scenes, backgrounds, sprites, nsfw art (though this needs to be discussed through PM as I d...
