Re: Changing your visual novel's title/name after it's annou
Edge of Tomorrow aired in theaters under one title, then changed its name to Live Die Repeat for the home video release. In an attempt to stave off some of the confusion, the movie is officially "Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow" where the original title is now the subtitle. Your game cou...

(Solved) Syncing Steam Achievements with Offline Play
Is there any way to check with the Steam server if an achievement has been acquired? Or an instant way to sync up achievements if the player has been playing offline (or if they bought direct, then got a Steam code)? I'm having players who are getting achievements (e.g. "Ate a cupcake!") b...

Re: Advertise Your VN at AnimeFest
Update: the Visual Novel Showcase will be at 5:00 on Sunday (September 6th) in panel room 6. I've got some trailers already, but if you want yours to be shown, this is your last week to send them to me.

Advertise Your VN at AnimeFest
This year, AnimeFest in Dallas, TX is making a push to promote visual novels and developers. Part of this push includes a "visual novel showcase" panel where I'll be playing trailers for newly released and upcoming visual novels. Trailers from any dev are welcome, even if you won't be in a...

Re: Princess Battles [GxB] [card battles] [commercial]
The two major things I've seen people ask for (that I also wouldn't mind) are: -Customize deck during story mode -Online gameplay against other people The first seems significantly more feasible than the second. For deck customization, I feel like the story implied that you could trade or buy cards ...

Re: Doing Voice-Acting Right
I just listed them in alphabetical order. IU is my top choice, because I run it (ha), but our main selling point is my studio and direction, neither of which appear to be a resource you're looking for. I've worked with Asynja and Sound Cadence before, and both are run by good people. If I had to com...

Re: Doing Voice-Acting Right
Perhaps you need to hire a voice director? This. What you're looking for is a casting director. They already have connections with actors and agencies, and they'll organize auditions for you. Generally they'll send the top auditions your way, and then you don't have to sift through 500+ auditions o...

Re: Tips for an aspiring voice actor
In what capacity are you thinking about voice acting? Are you thinking more about the scope of this site, like volunteering for visual novel voice acting, or do you mean like going full time pro? For pro work (or just generally good advice), I'd suggest visiting http://iwanttobeavoiceactor.com/ . It...

Re: Doing Voice-Acting Right
With your budget, I think you'd be able to get good voice acting, although I don't know if you could get an LA sound studio for that. If you've got your own studio or you can find LA actors who have their own setup, then that would work. Being that you're in LA, you do have proximity to a lot of gre...

Re: Dysfunctional Systems cancelled! Wait, what?
A dev friend of mine once said that every game you make will take twice as much money and time as you think it will, and that's if you know what you're doing. Backstage Pass has been mentioned as having a huge budget. Totally true. But what you don't see is the stuff we had to cut from our initial p...

Re: New Steam Group for VN Devs!
Although it would seriously be nice if Steam would include "visual novels" as a category. Maybe we as a group could petition them to do that?
