Re: How many characters is too many?

Please keep in mind that I will be asking for free help for the art. It's going to be difficult to find an artist willing to work for free on so many characters. Focus most of your attention on a smaller cast of characters. Maximize their impact - that's what will make the game lifelike for the pla...

Re: Complex Storywriting

Definitely seconding (or maybe I'm thirding or fourthing) the outline method. It was the only way I managed to write my time travel VN without mixing up all the details on what happened on which day. I avoided many plot holes by treating that outline like it was all that was holy. I also made sure t...

You, Me, 48 Hours This Weekend [Skill Trade]

Hey, kaleidofish here. I'm looking for an all star team of artists, coders, cheerleaders, and whatever-you-call-those-people-that-feed-you-grapes (servants?) to join me and my good friend r-bit's team for this weekend's Asylum Jam . We'll have 48 hours to do this thing. The working title of our game...

Re: Cooperation with proofreader

You can find a Proofreader by posting in the "Recruitment" area. If you're worried that it would be too much work, then you could offer a skill trade (for example, "I will make 3 sprites for you if you proofread my work"). The first time I worked with proofreaders on a VN, I sent...

Re: Memoir (and other personal writing) in Visual Novels

You're right. A memoir told in visual novel format would be interesting, because it would allow the writer to vent & play out what-if scenarios. Like, what if I had said "such and such" at this point rather than just walking away? It can become a therapeutic exercise. I suppose that'd ...

Ooooh Dusk art. You're great! Good luck on the drawing challenge! I can't offer critique since I'm not an illustrator, but I can offer support. :D *waves pom poms* YEAH!

Re: The Mishka Effect [Nano14] [Time Loop] [Comedy]

@Fenrir34: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! Mishka was a fun character to write for - I'm glad he could make you laugh. Good news is that we're in the process of forming ourselves into a team for a new visual novel. Expect to see more works from The Mishka Effect crew in the future. :D Let me know ...

I grew up in a suburb right on the city's edge, but I've been living in the city for the past few years. Glad to see another Philadelphian here. XD Thanks!

Seeking Feedback on May/Dec Otome

Hey, everyone! I've reached a standstill with my project 7 Months in Between (link to my site). I'm not sure that the story is sending out the messages that I want it to send. What I'm going for is a more mature otome experience, but I'm worried that the story just boils down to any common drama sto...

@ Laniessa: Thank you for the reblog! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. @ Flowers from Nowhere: Thank you! You're right about them being complicated. It was a lot of work watching out for plot holes. @ Tawwny: Glad the story made you laugh! I never considered myself much of a comedy writer until I finishe...

Re: Camp NaNoWriMo!

I wouldn't use it to make a VN from scratch - once a year is enough for me - but I'd be interested in it as a way to boost my word count for my projects, sure! 10k words is a more reasonable goal for me than Nanowrimo's 50k. XD
