Blue, you should *really* make some new VN (or release Hanafuda? :3) because this was all very amusing (and totally worth the wait in that regard).
Congrats to all the participants !

Re: Lucky Rabbit Reflex! - GxB Dating Sim (+demo)
stress stat a la Princess Maker 2 Just one thing that annoyed me in PM2 and Tokimemo : it's never made clear how much stress means "starts being unefficient at stuff", so having the protagonist declare "Phew, I'm exhausted these days" could be a nice reminder that we need to rel...

Re: 3D Studio Max (My First 24 hours in it)
Photoshop shading kinda kicks ass though
Mmm... you might want to looks at tutorials about 3 Point Lighting (I think that's what it's called) and Radiosity/Ambient Occlusion if you're looking for high realism of lighting (including soft shadows).

Re: What makes an idea good or bad?
Even before going into viewer subjectivity there's another things to look at : an idea might be fine in itself but totally messed up by a bad realization... or actually end up great with a good one :). That's why some synopsis look awesome and then the movie is actually a pile of poo. It's also why ...

Re: Project T3xt (Assistant wanted!)
I'm curious : will this actually have text input commands or only choices that have the protagonist input commands? (in other words : typing text or choice list?). A more "adventurish" style like this is intriguing.

Re: CD-ROM error?
One thing you might also try is to get an ISO maker such as IsoBuster (free) or using your regular CD burning software if you have one, and then use something like... DaemonTools to emulate a virtual CD drive, using the ISO with it. Making the ISO might tell you if the CD can't be read in parts... a...

Re: CD-ROM error?
The second game freezing might also be due to the AV messing up when analyzing that particular file. Try to temporarily turn off your AV while installing these two games (and maybe even playing them) and see if it works better.

Re: The 2008 Lemmy Visual Novel Awards - Vote Now!
I wouldn't be against having awards for music and graphics and such. As long as we get "technical" awards AND "spiritual" awards ("average graphics and music but it just worked so well the way it was put together!" = best overall for example), it's fine.

Good luck with the device troubles ^^;
As for life forms, I'm a fan of variety and you mentioning minerals is very interesting. One of my references for "cool races" was Star Control II and it certainly didn't stick to the boring "all humanoids" scheme .
