Re: Background Artist for Hire! [OPEN]

@Katta - I'm glad you liked them! It really means a lot to me when people say it added a lot to the game. Thank you! @Hazel-Bun - Thanks! I'll be looking forward to it :D EDIT: Added another condition since some people have been asking: I will only work in my own style (as seen in the samples). I'm...

http://i.imgur.com/qASMTDQ.jpg Click for full resolution. 2015 was a big year for me. Lots of ups and downs but overall a good year. I think I could summarize the entire year with "drawing BGs" haha but here's what I was up to: January - Worked on Maleficent Justice and an Unannounced Pro...

Re: Shout For Joy, Share Your Happiness

After almost 2 weeks, power is finally restored in our house. This long power interruption was caused by a recent typhoon here in the Philippines locally named "Lando". It was the worst typhoon that hit us personally. Not only did it fell our neighborhood's power lines, but it also caused ...

Re: Launcher hotkeys

Like mobychan said, you can use the reload feature in renpy too. But this got me curious so I poked around the launcher code and found you can add a hotkey yourself. To add the shortcut, do the following: Open renpy sdk folder > launcher > game > front_page.rpy Ctrl+F 'Launch project' (there should ...

Re: Getting Discouraged... :/

Have you tried playing through the tutorial game? It covers the basics of renpy coding and should get you up to date with the some of the latest stuff. As for learning programming, try to practice with a goal in mind. Make a short game with 2 choices that split to 2 endings. After that, perhaps add ...

Re: Shout For Joy, Share Your Happiness

I met with my two good friends yesterday. Last time we've been together was almost a year ago. We spent the night just catching up with each other's lives, confiding problems, talking about the future, the 'good old times'™, our relationships, marriage, and other topics I couldn't remember. Because ...

Re: How to temporarily disable CTC for dialogue?

You can use the wait text tag to pause at the text.

Code: Select all

"DIALOGUE!{w=3.0}"
But as noted in the documentation, the player can still click to continue.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

@Zylinder - Your backgrounds look great! I love the graffiti aesthetic in the first one. @Lesleigh63 - Looking good! Perspective grids are definitely helpful. http://orig15.deviantart.net/9bb3/f/2015/262/b/6/sickness_bgs_small_by_sendraw-d9a7zi6.png As for me, here's some of the BGs I've done for t...

Re: Share your sales/downloads stats!

stats.JPG For my game Target: Valentino since April! :D So that's about 18% download rate and a generous tip from 3 people (Thank you very much!) My biggest hits so far are from the NaNoRenO page and people who search for free RPGs. Cute Demon Crashes also brought a huge surge of hits when it launc...

Re: 3D Background Process using Blender, SAI and Photoshop

I'm thinking that if some backgrounds lend themselves well to 3D (mechanical, sterile environments) then I may give it a go, but for outdoors/ nature environments, I'll stick with painting Ah I definitely agree! And really, there are many cases where using 3D will save you hours of work (and frustr...

sendo - That's a very cute girl! ^__^ I like her hairstyle, it's simple but fitting. Your attempt at that rather difficult angle on the left looks pretty good to me, though I'm really no expert and struggling with this kind of stuff. (;´・`)> Thank you and glad it looks okay! Your entry looks really...

Re: 3D Background Process using Blender, SAI and Photoshop

How long did the scene take for you to make? Thank you! The whole scene (3d+2d) took about at least 16 hours (I did it in 3 days IIRC). It was a time where I was still figuring things out in Blender so I did a lot of tests and experiments to achieve the effect I wanted. My modeling skills back then...

Re: Weekly drawing -- source of drawing motivation

Here are my entries for this week's wild west theme and the pirate theme for last week. I forgot to post last week ahaha. Last week I was trying to do clean lineart. For this week I'm trying to improve posing the same character and making sure the character is not off-model. Proportions are off thou...

Re: Weekly drawing -- source of drawing motivation

Man how time flies. I still remember taking part in the weekly drawing thread last year.

Needless to say, I'm participating again and hope to see more folks join in. Remember to take it easy and have fun!

Thanks for hosting, Sasquatchii!
