Re: Starting up the process
Keep in mind that this particular feature won't be available until the next release.

Re: Starting up the process
I have no plans on making Novelty a multiplatform project quite yet. Developing the Windows version is plenty work already. The engine will be refined over time and I may eventually write an OpenGL renderer, but that's not really on my agenda. Furthermore, I just wanted to amend my previous post whe...

Re: Starting up the process
Such harsh criticism. I appreciate that. :D I am the first one to admit that the writing experience in Novelty isn't what it should be. The action system is great for beginners who doesn't want to learn a programming language to make a visual novel. Admittedly it's a bit clunky for the experienced a...

Re: Help needed in Digital Colouring
Is it me or the software isn't really relevant to his question? Yes and no. It's not important which software you use, as long as you're comfortable using it. That was the only point I was making. Software is just a tool and tools are supposed to be transparent. If you're spending too much time fid...

Re: Help needed in Digital Colouring
Why do people keep recommending Gimp? It may be free but it's not designed to be user-friendly and is a really terrible recommendation to make to someone not already familiar with other art tools, like Photoshop. In my opinion Photoshop is much easier to use than Gimp. Digital art is all about the t...

Re: 3d art vs hand drawn art
Dunno if the point has been made already, but there's a difference between 3D and shitty 3D.
Poser art is usually pretty shitty. Uncanny valley, etc.

Re: Here goes nothing...tell me I'm NOT crazy
Oh, for clarity's sake I should point out I'm not American. I live and studied in Sweden. Teachers here are payed by the government (through taxes) and not through tuitions from individual students (or their parents). Schools are granted funds relative to the amount of graduating students so there a...

I feel so sorry for people who have to pay for education. I don't mean that in an arrogant way. Just saying it's a shame.

Re: PC Gaming vs Console Gaming
I just bought a new graphics card from the nVidia 200-series. It think I should be able to play Crysis on highest without problem, except I don't like that game and the games I do play are not nearly as graphically intensive. Call of Duty 4 plays great but I've finished with that already. I don't pl...

Re: Ren'Py @ 5: Version 1
Congrats of 5 years. That's a long time and worth some crediting.
I like the fact that you celebrate by going back and looking at version 1.
I myself love to look back on past projects to gauge just how much has changed.

Re: Best download delivery method for large games
I really like Steam. I've bought plenty of games there and even really big games (4+ gigs) download in less than an hour, usually in about 20-30 minutes.. and I live in Sweden. Once installed, I can play it whenever I like and I can see which of my friends are online (just like XBox Live) and can jo...

Isn't Linux like an OS for programmers by programmers? (Obviously all OS'es are made by programmers but you catch my drift)
Comprehensible GUIs seem to be more of an afterthought with most Linux-based software from what I can tell.

Re: Merry Christmas 2008
Here in Sweden Santa comes on the 24th. (I guess we've been extra nice over here)
Merry christmas!
PS. As you can see I'm doing my best to sneak away from my family and use the computer.
I promised myself I wouldn't code, through.
