Re: Ren'Py vs kirikiri2

What's more practical and straightforward is probably the renpy screen generator part. The renpy battle system generator would be me almost creating another language.

Would just the Ren'Py screen creator be good enough?

Re: Ren'Py vs kirikiri2

The strong point of kk2 has and ren'py hasn't is history. KK2 has tremendous custom scripts added by many semi-professional programmers, but ren'py not have yet. I do hope that people in the community will note this - and post the non-distinguishing bits of your games in the cookbook forum, or simp...

Re: OUYA - The console for $99 that supports Android

So here is a big question. Tegra 3 "Wayne" (as in Batman) will support Direct X11.1 (Xbox 360 only supports DirectX10.X). Would the OUYA have this? Maybe?

Re: Infinite Game Works

Thanks for the honest review applegirl. Infinite Game Works was something to help encourage people to make games/visual novels. I didn't quite put in the resources as I did for Fading Hearts. The next game that is entering production will take everything that people liked about Fading Hearts and tak...

Re: Running a micro webserver from renpy

Hmm... I thought there might be something preventing me from creating a thread while in-game. I guess not?

Well I guess I could just ensure the proper locks are done on the correct variables. While a blatant gimmick, it would do well to hide away some juicy secrets.

Running a micro webserver from renpy

Hahaha... oh PyTom might bang his head against a wall with this. So I have a general idea of how to start up a web server while running renpy. I did manage to start a very basic one. So I'm just wondering if there is a way I could periodically call a method so that I serve a web page resource each t...

Thank you Papillon for taking the time to write that out. Juggling sets of terminolgy and trying to figure out what it could mean when people don't know about it.

Re: Why, IMO, it's hard finding a game to like as a female g

A line like "Any highly privileged white man in a public career can literally talk about women on a daily basis as nothing but fuckholes ... without any fear of consequence in his professional life." is so far from reality that I can't take anything that site says seriously. (There's a hu...

Re: Why, IMO, it's hard finding a game to like as a female g

Hmm... for me I actually enjoy reading shoujo manga that is pure and undeniable smut. A super shy, geeky girl with low grades meets a guy who is her childhood friend crush, super hot, top marks and only has eyes for her. They become hotly intimate. To me that would be something I would enjoy reading...

Re: Why, IMO, it's hard finding a game to like as a female g

The feminism 101 blog that Aleema referenced is designed to defuse derailing comments from online discussion. Don't let the "feminism 101" title confuse you. I got horribly confused because I expected information from what I took in women studies 101 in university to be everywhere on the s...

One thing that I've heard nearly consistently in almost every social science university course was the hidden messages that the "media" send. (sexuality, family therapy, feminism, etc...) Forget children... adults are still susceptible somewhat to the media messages that is sent. Especiall...

Re: Infinite Game Works

So yeah... I'm thinking about putting in new features in a future patch. Along with the release of this patch I'll probably bring up the price a bit. Going a little bit of the minecraft route. What do you guys think of the following? New Character Hacking mini-game to top-secret databases Part time ...

Well I can't wait till we'll get to the point where people care who canonically wins the main character's heart. Then we can have votes based on registered licence keys or something. Show your support for the character.

Re: "I don't usually play dating-sims but..."

Mangagamer's public sales figures from Koihime Musou and their comments about it being their best-selling title suggest that almost all of their games shift only a few hundred copies. There are more players than that because of rampant piracy, but still, that's not much of a customer base. There ar...
