Re: Doppelganger -remaking progress- [GXB][Mystery]

Remade sprites look a lot, lot better. It's nice to watch you progress this much in a short time

Re: Hiring an Editor

Honestly, the easiest way is to work with editors that worked on a project you liked. Also, directly telling them what would you expect from them is important. If you want to make a really good game I'd adivse you to find more than one editor. When there's two of them you'll know what is actually ba...

Re: How to Not Piss Off Your Readers

Wao, so even on lemmasoft people get angry at BioWare. I skipped writing to play too. There are a lot of ways to piss of the player, the point is why you're doing it. If the game has to end one way because of the meaning, ideals it's supposed to have, it's okay to ignore the player's choices. ME3 co...

Please, don't. At least not the third game.

Death scenes

Problem with the death scenes is to not overdo it. When should I stop? Considering the fact that the dying person is a close person to the main character. How many people can die, so every death would seem tragic? How long should it take for the main character to recover from the shock and pain to m...

Re: Playing with reader expectation

I can't say that trolling is bad, but as always, it all depends on the story. If there's a reason for all these characters to die, it would all make sense and the story still would be good. But if they get, I don't know, hit by a bus for no apparent reason, just because you feel like killing them, i...

Re: Can you stick to your plot?

I usually can stick to my plot, I just make little changes. I think it mostly depends on the time you spend to think about the plot before you start writing. If it's a little time, you may keep changing almost everything, but if you have all important events in the plotline planned, one leading to a...

Re: 2 Main Characters

That's a weird question. The way in which you show the story absolutely always depends on the story. I can't answer such thing if I don't know the plot or what do you want to show. You should be the one to know it yourself.

Re: How Does One Flesh Out a Story?

If it's not the first story you're writing, Gear's solution is probably the easiest and the best. But if it's the first one, I would recommend to start with something easy, short and less deep. Just to try writing a full, or even a half story. Just to try. Sometimes wiritng a few first words helps. ...

Re: Questions on Romance VNs

1. Don't make them. Falling in a true love in a week is very, very unrealistic. There are various kind of feelings, similiar to love, but not as strong. 2. They will be angry. But they'll also won't be pleased if the story is naive. I feel bad with bittersweet endings, but when I started to write my...

Re: I have a question about writing...

Revealing a little bit is usually the best idea. It makes the player want to play through every route. The problem is how to write it. It depends on this childhood issue you're talking about. If it's complicated, you'll be able to do it. Example - if she was beaten by her parents on one route it wou...

Re: When a Writer Can't Write

They are various things that stop me from writing, but I think that you're talking about artist block. I have it from time to time, especially when I have to write a part that even I'm not interested in, but it has to be done, so the story will have a sense. The story I'm writing now has politics in...

Re: Do your characters surprise you?

I wouldn't really say that they suprise me. I learned to treat them as a people and no matter how well you know someone, they may still suprise you in real life. I would rather say, that they are stubborn and often don't do the things I'd like them to do. For example, I may try to make my egoistic c...

Re: Crescent Cross Academy [GxB][School Life]

Okay, so first - that plot is used terribly often, I'm sure you're aware of that. With good writing it may proceed into being more than just a silly game, unless you want it to be light. I'd advice you to find yourself an editor, their help is essential. Also, I think that at such early stage of wor...

Re: Line of Heroes [GxB, Arabian Nights Fantasy]

I think main character lips are too big, even if she belongs to a desert tribe, they look almost unhuman on girst screenshot, but they're fine on the second one.
