As for the question of making the game super dark despite characters that don't scream grimdark, I think that's actually a nice change from usual horror titles. I'll be interested to see where this goes!

I would definitely go for the first one, at least artwise. I like the more subdued look. But, the second definitely is more of a standard otome game style. (However, I am very choosy about my pretty boys, so xD)
