So... what's it about?
All I can tell from the post so far is that there's girls in it and you say there will be a feels trip.

Re: Gender and personality of the protagonist bias
I'm one of those people who is fed up with the whole gender equality bs. if the protag is a boy, it's a boy. if it's a girl, it's a girl. I apologise in advance if I offend anybody, my opinions tend to be rather blunt. so many games try to cater to everyone and the result ends up making the choice ...

Re: How much of the game should be in the demo?
Consider what the purpose of your demo IS. Not all games have them! If you want one, what do you want it to accomplish? Is it to upsell the full game? (In which case, you don't want to make a demo until your game is DONE!) Is it to demonstrate the game mechanics for fundraising purposes? (like, are ...

Just in time for the end of 2019 we've released beta patches through to the end of the game!
The game is not, however, finished. We still have cool stuff and two more side romances left to add. But players can reach the final dance!

Re: Why most visual novels stay as demos for so long.
So VN devs that have a successful Kickstarter account will have quicker development. Hahahahahaha. :) Quite the opposite, often! The need to run a kickstarter slows down the development (can't do anything until the kickstarter is over) and the kickstarter itself may blow up the scope of the origina...

Re: Marking Thread Solved
I'm pretty sure the forum rules say NOT to change the topic title to just 'Solved' because that makes the thread much harder to search for, for anyone else who has the same problem... But adding Solved to the title works.

Re: Tint animated imagebuttons on hover
Could you define new images as tinted versions of the original frames and then build a hover animation out of those?
I don't think the style definition will help you at all. That sort of color setting usually only affects things drawn directly by the game, like text.

I don't update here often (most update logs are posted on the itch page ) but speaking of CGs, we've recently been adding chibi-style CGs for some of the more light-hearted game events, similar to what was done in A Little Lily Princess. campaign.jpg Story-progress-wise, the patches available to peo...

Re: Seeking tips and tutorials for dating sim
Well, first off, what kind of thing do you want to write, gamewise? Leaping too quickly to an example can cripple your design sometimes because you don't know what is and isn't important or how to fix anything that isn't working (and as you know, guides quickly become outdated, unless you get the ve...

Re: Game keeps starting for no reason.
Some basic troubleshooting steps. If your code is doing something for no reason whatsoever that you can see, attempt to isolate where the strange behavior is happening. When something really crazy is going on I often find it handy to put in a ton of say statements so that I'm stepping through every ...

Re: Centered text on Custom Choice Menu
Have you tried tinkering with the gui.choice_button_borders settings? Adjusting the borders may allow you to push the contents around a bit.
(Slightly hacky solution, but to do better I'd want to actually have your code and art to tinker with)

Re: Disable ctc on splashscreen
Hard pauses will prevent clickthroughs, but should be used very sparingly because they make players angry. An extremely brief hard pause to make sure someone hasn't double-clicked by accident, fine. Making people sit through thirty seconds of unskippable logo splashscreens, though, people are just ...

Re: imagemap method of GUI
Personally I end up with a ton of different old versions of RenPy installed for various reasons. The easy way to get older versions of those files is to download an older RenPy installer, I'm pretty sure they're still available. I can't answer questions about imagemaps because I'm always so sad that...

Re: A controversial question (love interest that look 15 when they're 22)
It's not illegal, but it IS controversial, in the sense that it can create controversy for your game, since some people will object and complain about it.
