Re: WAGAKKIWA![Drama,SliceofLife,Romance] UPDATED
Neato! I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. I had a look at the characters and it looks like you have a pretty rounded out cast. (Especially interested in Emi though. I'm a sucker for those types of characters...) Good luck! Thanks for your interest! Glad to hear someone's feedback about th...

Re: WAGAKKIWA![Drama,SliceofLife,Romance] UPDATED
Hey there. Yeah, I've mentioned plenty of times the sprites are from ComiPo, due to lack of artist skill and equipment. However that is mentioned everywhere the game is discussed. I'm pretty sure I've been honest so far about it. Re main character doing a peace sign, I don't see why it'd drive some ...

Re: I broke the skip mode
What version is your Ren'Py on? Also, did you do any of the modifications to the keypress codes? (like something you can add to change what keys do what)

Re: How to write an Interesting Slice of Life Story
I believe a Slice-of-Lice can only be engaging if one (or both) of two things is achieved: it hits home to more than one person, or it describes events that one isn't familiar with but believes in - leaving them to keep reading on. Many SOLs are also associated with Comedy & Romance - two joyous...

You're welcome It was a load off my mind as well since I'm mandating a semi-huge one-man project at the moment.

Re: Pay what you want model for VN, how good does it pay?
it could apply to vn but i dont see how it would help the game. in japan (the most vn reader gender) they might price the nv by the amount of time and stuff it has, so in the usa (non-readers) they would think a vn has a book so the price for it will be almost $0-$10. i have never seen a vn gone mo...

Re: Pay what you want model for VN, how good does it pay?
Haven't sold with a "pay what you want" but I'd have to assume the reason you gain greater revenue is because you get more sales. Whereas with a fixed price you guarantee yourself your revenue rate per sale, but you won't get a lot of them. Because if you're selling your game for like $25,...

Did you download them by just clicking the link? I think you have to right click their links and then click "Save Link As.."

Re: VN Resource List & Dev Kit [For anyone really]
Hey thanks for the list! It's really helpful and I really appreciate it! Just one quick question. How do I get the files from the soundimage website to work? I downloaded them but they won't play when I load them in ren'py. How are you using them? Make sure the files are in your renpy game director...

Re: "Polygon" Imagebuttons/imagemaps
In imagemaps with their hotspots, you set the x/y for the top left and the x/y for the bottom right. That makes it hard - I recently thought about how you could do something like this. This is a long shot, but have you tried making multiple hotspots across the one image map that all do the same thin...

Re: Adding a scrollbar [SOLVED]
Actually. The text isn't showing up. So, while the scrollbar is there... there seems to be nothing in it? *Edit* Figured out what the problem was. The text statements should be on the same indent as the "draggable True..." line. Once again, thank you~ Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention that....

Re: Window size: Is 1280x720 too big?
No, because while size of the program screen can contribute to performance issues, it is unlikely that that would be the case in Ren'Py. It really depends on what files/programs that would be running + the factor of the program size. This is why a 3D game with amazing graphics and high velocity on m...

Re: Bars 100% full, without thumb, not showing full
I haven't worked with thumbs in ren'py, but another possibility could be image size vs. set sizes in the script. Does it do this for all of your bars at 100% or just the HP one specifically? If yes to all, then I would like to say the problem could be to a slight image size problem or just set size/...

Re: Adding a scrollbar
You can use Ren'Py's "Frame" code to add a scrollbar. For example, I added the code to my Music Room list to make the vbox list have a scrollbar. You could start out like this: frame: side ("c r"): area (1,0,280,600) viewport id "music_list": draggable True mousewheel T...

Re: [Image Buttons/Coding] How to use sprites as image butto
At this moment, I'm not 100% sure. I'm thinking that you can add some arguments to the definition of a character with a "tag" for their name and therefor make their images (note, by that I mean all their images) clickable to whatever is set too. I'll have to look into that on my free time,...
