Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

Uggh, I can't seem to get any writing done for my VNs. During finals I couldn't stop writing, and now that I've got free time, I can't seem to just sit down and do it.

It's frustrating me to the point that I actually feel tense physically. I need a creative outlet, but it just ain't happening.

Re: Are you a Weeaboo?

I find it kind of mean and pointless to make fun of weeaboos. Sure, they can be annoying, but why does it really matter in the end? Let them have their fun, they'll grow out of it eventually as they mature and learn more about the world. If not, oh well.

Re: Writing about cancer...

Someone suggested that I just make something up, so I gave that a shot... I thought, maybe this character is kind of a Nagisa Furukawa and has always been weak and gotten ill easily. One day, this character collapses feeling shaky and weak and stuff, and so she goes to the hospital. They tell her he...

Re: Writing about cancer...

Given that I knew someone who died of ovarian cancer because it was so hard to recognise, I think that might not be a bad one to go with. For some reason, it is not one with such obvious symptoms and you can have a pretty massive tumour without really knowing it. In fact, I have known two other peo...

Re: Writing about cancer...

I want to know how old this girl is... the younger she is, the easier you can go with mysterious disease as the excuse to kill the girl. Of course it's not really a mysterious "magical" one, the adult (the doctor, the parents) know what it is, but as a little girl, she only know she is dy...

Re: Writing about cancer...

Now I'm not really sure what to do... I guess cancer is really too touchy a subject for me to go about writing without proper knowledge of it. "Ambiguous terminal illness" feels kind of like a cop-out, even though it worked for Clannad. And I'm not really sure how I'd write that. The story...

Re: Writing about cancer...

Really, any terminal illness will work. I just thought of cancer first and went with it, but soon realized I didn't know much about it. All I need to know is that I'm portraying the illness accurately. The story is about the relationship between this girl and her boyfriend, and how they cope with th...

Writing about cancer...

Okay, so I'm writing a short kinetic novel in which a girl is told she will die in two months due to cancer that had long gone unnoticed. Not knowing much about cancer and just going off of what I saw an X-Files episode, I gave the girl nasal cancer. Basically, she gets a nosebleed, faints, goes to ...

Re: Protagonist Characterization or DO NOT WANT

I think a good example of a horrible protagonist is the guy from Brass Restoration. They tried to make him flawed, they tried to make us sympathize him, but he was an asshole and a wackjob.
As long as your protagonist doesn't end up like him, your players will be happy. (Or, at least, I would be.)

Yet another reason for me to get a PSP.

Now, if only they would localize Key's VNs... God, I would be so happy.

Re: What is your religion?

There are many names for it, but the last one I heard was "Liberal Christian Universalism." I don't believe in a judgemental God, I believe everyone goes to Heaven, I don't believe being gay is a sin, stuff like that. I haven't exactly decided what I believe in terms of Jesus and stuff, si...

Re: Protagonists that you would appreciate

In terms of guys, as long as he's not the typical self-proclaimed "normal" high school student living a peaceful life whose routine is disrupted by a harem of crazy, sexually-exploitable girls, he's okay with me. In terms of female protagonists, if they're a walking, talking jumble of sexi...
