Re: Centaur VN [NaNoRenO 2014] [Fantasy] [Slice of Life]

If you want them to look like a herd, then yeah, there needs to be bit more. This looks rather like a bunch of interesting individuals than a group, though of course it's better (?) to keep the colours different enough for easier distinction. (Hehe, great! I was really, really impressed with the wor...

Re: Centaur VN [NaNoRenO 2014] [Fantasy] [Slice of Life]

Just wanted to say, I am really looking forward to this! I love the design of your characters - this is what I want to see instead of humans with animal tails and ears. I'm really happy about this. I guess the fact that I recently read the Centaur no Nayami manga may play a role, too. But this is co...

Re: GUI disappears at menu choice?

Add dialogue after "menu:" and before the choices and it will show up.

Re: Essential features for EVEN: a new visual novel engine

While the GUI interface was pretty cool, I also really like being able to just read through my script easily. What would be helpful, and perhaps an easier first step, is a 'live feed' of just what you're programming, or something that you could update in the corner of your screen. I admit I haven't...

Re: Black Doves [VN] [NaNoRenO 2014] [Circus, Fantasy] [3/2]

Since there are vertical stripes, a black outline around the letters would definitely help make them more pleasant to read.

Re: Ren'pu Screen Size Changes - Zoom in or out?

Are you sure the other game has the same 1280x720 resolution? There shouldn't be a reason why your's is smaller. Except if you changed the physical size (dragged the corners of the window, for example).
And you change the font size with style.default.size.

Re: Narrating in a Visual Novel?

I'm used to mainly writing dialogue, too, so I'm writing as few narration as necessary. There isn't really a need to describe characters or locations that thoroughly, only that what can't be properly conveyed with the dialogue, the sprites and backgrounds.

Re: Free CC-NC GUIs

Just wanted to pop in and say that I'm probably gonna use the Hearts theme for my NaNoRenO project, thanks a lot for this, it looks really nice!
Also, if anybody else is wondering, the sound and music is set to 'False' in the options. :)

Re: Kajima [Fantasy|Drama] + Demo

Oh, no, it won't! I will have another, longer demo up soon, but I'm just not motivated to proofread everything right now and test is thoroughly. I will do soon, though. Just taking a break after exams. :D That's the current lint: Statistics: The game contains 3,648 dialogue blocks, containing 33,980...

Re: NaNoRenO is coming again! Who's excited?

I will probably participate. I have some general ideas in my mind and I haven't really worked on my main project in a while.. (I have to proofread the demo, but I really don't want to.) So I might as well do something little and quick now.

Re: Rue Spritework

This may sound a bit nitpicky, but even if the pose the blue haired girl is doing is possible, it's incredibly uncomfortable if not painful. So I would advise you to think about whether or not the pose is possible and whether or not it's comfortable.. you surely don't want your characters to be in p...

Re: Managing Motivation

Hm, are you maybe forcing yourself to write something specific? You can just write whatever to get you going and can just switch to stuff you "need" to write after you have already the drive. For example, don't try and force yourself to write the very first scene or some "foundation b...

Re: Smile for Me [horror - mystery - thriller]

The synopsis sounds great, even though it made me jump a bit.* I really love your art style and definitely do not want you to hire someone else to do them. I really like how they look, even though the Mary and Christine look very pale in comparison to the gang, especially since their clothes aren't ...

Re: Writing a Blind Protagonist

Why shouldn't it be possible? Also, I don't see* how it might be different from other protagonists. Just drop the 'he saw this, he saw this' and replace them with 'he heard this, he smelled that, he felt this' and done. Or maybe I'm making this too simple? I remember reading a book about a boy who g...

Re: What's your goal in life?

Having fun.

That's pretty much the only thing that really drives me; always has and always will.

And writing a book someday. And making games is a pretty good direction to get there, I think.
