Eidolon

Our NaNoReNo project, "Eidolon", is now available for download! The protagonist is a lost spirit who is given a second chance at life and at love by a sudden twist of fate. Will he accept his destiny or risk everything by challenging it? The game takes roughly fifteen minutes for the first...

Eidolon is 100% done -- I uploaded all the files to turboupload on the 31st. I was going to wait for hosting until I made a thread, but it just occurred to me I could post the links to turboupload (yes, I'm a moron sometimes -- it literally *just* occurred to me).

Absinthe: why not just put in manually after the game has been packaged? Because the packager tells me I can't unzip Mac and linux distributions on Windows and I'm too lazy to load up Linux! Hah, now you know the truth... I'm a semi-lapsed Linux user. I think 7-zip'll actually do linux, now that I ...

11 hours to go! Wouldn't you know it, we had a wicked Texas thunderstorm this morning and our power was out for four hours. And I overslept because of it! Fortunately, I had time yesterday to add an alternate path I'd planned from the start but wasn't sure I'd have time for. I'm pretty pleased with ...

LOL. Yeah, it's about ready. Not saying there aren't bugs (for every one I squish, two more seem to pop up) or places I'd like to be smoother, but I'm almost about as comfortable with releasing it as I'm gonna get. Anyone else get this 'I'm-gonna-be-sick' feeling at the thought of actually releasing...

Whew! Almost... almost... almost... done. I both love and hate the 'last little bits' -- I always find 'one more thing' to do that MUST be done, and I'm never quite satisfied with the results. But it's a lot of fun to see things really come together. Eidolon still has a few rough edges, and there's ...

Instead of animating it like a movie (with individual frames), why not just create an image of the text- then use Ren'Py to animate it moving down. ... (silence) ...because I didn't think of that! Hehehe. As I was going to bed the other morning after starting my NaNo, I had this brilliant idea abou...

Well, I wasted copious amounts of time tinkering with the 'opening' to the game over the last few days, along with a Ren'Py Intro (happy with the look, displeased with the size) and a NaNo Intro (happy with the size, meh on the look). Oh, and deciding on fonts and digging up music. But I'm *really* ...

Heh, I *adore* amnesia. It's one of the handful of plot points that I'm guaranteed to always take a second look at, even if I'm not thrilled with the other aspects of a game or movie. I love seeing the different permutations people come up with about it, and I'm always happy to see the 'standards' o...

Hehehehe, while we're on the subject, you can also use ctrl+d to duplicate the last line before the cursor or a selected chunk of code. And if you highlight a selection before doing a find and replace, you can opt to just find and replace in that selection (handy for changing that variable that sudd...

Just in case it comes in handy, in the Ren'Py Scite, you can highlight an entire block of code, then hit 'tab' to move it all over at once the proper number of spaces.

This has saved me oodles of time when deciding to change something from a regular block to a python block. :)

50gigs of unsorted, unnamed files? That's awful! If you need it, I've got a python script that's not particularly polished but renames files in batches. (But you'd need a full python install for it, so it might be more hassle than it's worth.) And I'm glad to hear the good news. Here's hoping they c...

I have 6 and a half hours to go. If I go climbing tonight, which I most likely will, I'll still get home with plenty of time to get started right on the button for my time zone.

Which isn't technically necessary, but hey, at least I have a plan!
