Re: Advice Conceerning Promoting A Dark, Psychological Horro
From what I can tell, although I wouldn't know about the other social media promotion and the niche's, but maybe there are less people buying this one compared to the last because: -A german title will be the only thing people will see before opening the game's page. There would be no reason for th...

Advice Concerning Promoting A Dark, Psychological Horror VN
Hey guys, I published my latest novel on Steam a couple of months ago ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/570350 ), but have received very few sales, especially in comparison to my debut release ( store.steampowered.com/app/363410 ), despite it being of a higher quality in all areas. I have a feelin...

A shimmying effect
Hey guys, I have a scene in my novel where someone's trying to shimmy through a small hole - it's quite an intense scene so it'd be great if there was an effect I could use with it. I have been chatting with TheSHAD0W in the IRC, and we have gotten close with a modified hpunch transition (applied to...

Re: Disappear, oh mouse cursor!
I have the opposite question, is there a way to prevent the cursor disappearing after 30 secs?

Is it possible to add an option to switch fonts?
Is it possible to add an option to the preferences menu that gives players the ability to switch between 2 fonts (eg default / simple)? I had something similar set up in my previous novel that changed the style of the textbox: frame: style_group "pref" has vbox label _("Textbox Style&...

Re: First-person blinking effect?
As the error is telling you. Check the indentation. Asceai's example code uses two spaces for indentation. It works, but if you mix it with another piece of code that uses a different indentation, you may have problems. Try 4-spaces indentation, for example: init python: def eyewarp(x): return x**1...

Re: First-person blinking effect?
It's a pretty hard effect to get quite right, but here is my attempt, just to give you a general idea. Someone not as inept at image manipulation would probably do a 10x better job. init python: def eyewarp(x): return x**1.33 eye_open = ImageDissolve("eye.png", .5, ramplen=128, reverse=Fa...

Re: Programmer for Hire!
I would 100% recommend hiring DragoonHP if you need any assistance on your project. He developed a complex lighting system for me, and was happy to go back and forth until we got it perfect. From now on, without a doubt, he's my go-to man =)

Re: Pick Random Music Loop each time [Urgent]
Hm, you could probably get away with using a variable to check if it should loop. init python: continueLooping = True def queueChanCallback(): if continueLooping: randomswamp = renpy.random.choice( ("music/swamp silence.ogg", "music/swamp pan1.ogg", "music/swamp pan2")...

LF programmer to develop 2 somewhat complex systems
Hi team! With support from the ren'py community, I managed to code and release my own visual novel http://store.steampowered.com/app/363410, despite my coding skills being pretty far from amazing. I'm currently working on a horror VN that has a couple of pretty complex features I could use some help...

Re: Panic Metre Based On Mouse Movement?
After chatting with TheSHAD0W on the IRC, he kindly came up with a system to track mouse-movement and build up a metre based on that - I'll attach it to this post to help anyone looking to do a similar thing.

Re: Image creditscroll no longer displaying?
All I've done is added two new translations, haven't touched the code apart from that, so may be an update that's causing it...namastaii wrote:Hmm I'm not sure. You could have changed something elsewhere that somehow affects it or maybe something changed in an update.
