Re: Help with game start transition
Yep, I tinkered with that too, but what that does is applies a fade when you right-click or press escape to access the game menu, not really when you first run the .exe of your RenPy game.

Re: Recovering script from a build distribution
If you made the build distributions without modifying anything at all, your script is likely in the "game" folder. Look for "script.rpy" and open it with your default text editor.

Re: Help with game start transition
Hm, I tried that but the fade/dissolve transition started after I pressed "Start Game" and not prior to starting up the game.exe itself. I've managed to add fading out effects to the end of the splashscreen, but the main menu just really pops out with no smooth transition into it, so it lo...

Help with game start transition
Hi! It seems basic (especially for the pros out there) but I cannot seem to wrap my head around it. Let me explain: I want a transition as the game is first started, when the main menu is loaded. This comment here on the options.py file states that: ## A variable to set the transition used when the ...

Re: Your first version of Ren'Py!
I always use the latest release of RenPy because I want to see all the new code I can use (albeit me being such a newbie to it that I tend to mess things up...) But my first RenPy version was something in 2012. I checked the release list on the website and it's likely that it's RenPy 6.14 "Stea...

Re: Jack-In-A-Castle [NaNo2019] [BxB, Fantasy] COMPLETED
I'm finally done with all the endings! This is possibly the most enjoyable short VN I have ever played and I'm so happy that I did! Highly recommending the people looking forward to this game to try it~ <3 (btw, I placed the much longer comment on the itch.io page because I swear I could keep talkin...

Re: How do you stay motivated to finish?
Honestly, sometimes it is hard to stay motivated. It's why my college instructors tell me that it is much better to be disciplined than to wait for motivation to entice you to work on the things you need to do. I'd say it's pretty sound advice, but very hard to put into practice. Sometimes, life jus...

Re: A Bureau of Monsters [AllxAll] [IntRenAiMo19] [VN, Turn Based Battles] Ann. on Release Date
Congrats on all these jam-packed updates! I'm not gonna say that it's sad to see that the release date has been pushed back (I'm fairly excited for this); instead, I'm glad you are also prioritizing your health too! And if the fast pacing has been very difficult, then by all means, also take some ti...

Re: Does Ren'Py support Live 2D?
Glad to see that the project attempt hasn't been abandoned yet (checked the github and am impressed, though got worried for a bit since it's been 5 months since the last commit)! Looking forward to tinkering with this, and thank you so much! Excited to see more updates for it this 2019, but no rush....

Re: Glowing text/button hovers help
But it's only for solid color changes. ... Yes, so try something like this define gui.button_text_hover_outlines = [ (3, "#ffe6ff", 0, 0), (2, "#ffccff", 0, 0),(1, "#ffb3ff", 0, 0), ] Thank you so much! It worked! I'll also experiment with this code snippet so I can co...

Re: Writing an organized script
Hi, Fisseha! Congrats on finishing your story outline! A lot of people have different methods for organizing their script. I have my own way of doing it, but I feel it's far from ideal/perfect. A lot of people use programs specifically catered to organizing your notes for the script. I have Scrivene...

Hi, Alcaknight! I plan to use some of the CC songs you've uploaded and was wondering if you have a website I could place a credit link to, or is the link of your soundcloud okay in the credits section? :--) Thank you so much for sharing your music! ^^

[Solved] Glowing text/button hovers help
Hi! I'm still a relative newbie when it comes to some advanced customization of GUI and the like, so I figured it might be best to ask for help for now since I think I got stuck somewhere. I've been experimenting with using "outlines" on style properties for text and so far I managed to ge...
