Well, I want to use a tablet for hobby purposes - just for fun, you know. So if I buy a Wacom, will it be worth it?

If you have the money, go for a Wacom. If you don't have the money and are unable to save for a Wacom, you could try a Genius (they're pretty cheap and work nicely) and move to a Wacom later on when you can afford it.
