Hmm. I seem to be having trouble with one of my synthesizers. It won't render properly anymore. Unfortunately, it was Renoise, the tracker I use for producing any of my modern-style pieces. So at this point it's either GarageBand or strictly classical-style music. So if anyone in NaNoRenO wants (Wes...

I just checked and it seems I messed up : the mac format given is HQX. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6MB97UJ4 Here's an example flash file HQXed. From what I've read, HQX is some sort of compression format converting the usual 8 bits binaries into 7 bits making them easy to transfer through e-mails ...

IIRC, .app is the equivalent to an exe on the mac. (From an end-user perspective, the reality is a little odder.) .sit is a stuffit file, which is roughly like a zip. Yeah: Windows has .EXE programs, which are one file. Macs have .APPs, which are actually folders, containing programs and supplement...

One tool y'all may want to look at for composing: http://buzz-like.sourceforge.net/index.html Seems to be getting a lot of "buzz" in the community lately... :P Interesting though the project is, I don't think it's much more than a dressed-up tracker-to-be with some effects plugins, ...

Actually, the issue extends to DVDs. Optical disks do have a lifespan, the best only decades. That's why the commercial VN scene in Japan is into Artbooks and Limited Editions with Plushies and what not. (Although, the motivation is more to milk the property rather than to purposely give life and e...

I also got into the world of writing music a while back. I started off with simple tunes in DirectMusic Producer (still my personal favorite MIDI sequencer), with basically no harmony or anything. In high school, I took three years of Music theory classes from a man with 7 degrees. However, because ...

Ack! A .WAV file is big for such a teeny sample. You should consider compressing your files in the future.

However, I will forgive the transgression for your very interesting use of the diminished IV :P

I have a bunch of song skeletons floating around, some of which could be whipped into shape in time for March. I'll grab 'em, give 'em a run for 'eir money, and post 'em. I don't know whether or not I can write custom music for anyone at this point, but I certainly hope I can :) I'll post more about...

Ah, hell.

Here I am in a brand-new photo, with my XBOX-HUEG headphones and lots of artsy-fartsy symbolism (Hah! Not really...).

(Not like it stopped the blade engine folks... but hey, Ren'Py is the VN engine that hasn't been banned for wikipedia-spamming.) That should be Ren'Py's slogan: "Hey, Ren'Py is the VN Engine that hasn't/isn't/didn't [INSERT FAVORITE BLADE FAILURE] !" :P But yes, the experts on life report...

As long as the second half is okay, I'll be trying out different variations on the first half while I go through the rest of the pieces with my Asiatic Style Detector :P

(Here's an edit I whipped up this morning. Any better (besides obvious mp3 shittiness?)

   Hmm. It does seem that I have accidentally written a variation on one of the Foxtaile themes into the first 30 seconds. #!(<&%@*$a;l;aowiencq Craptastic. I knew it sounded familiar. Alrighty. I need to get my brain out of "Asiatic" mode and rewrite a lot of stuff. ...

Not to be outdone, I submit to the public the preliminary recording of the music for "I, Lawrence Summers, do take you, Rebecca Blythe, to be my lawfully-wedded wife..." as a sample of what I'm working on and to prove that I'm not just sitting on my ass :P

I find that either watching a Miyazaki movie or listening to the music from them (by Joe Hisaishi) has honest-to-God emotional healing powers. If you can watch or listen alone and without interruption, even better :)
