Engine switch
So I'll try to keep this short. I already made a visual novel but it was only for windows because of the engine. I decided it was a good idea to switch to ren'py because it can actually export to mac and other systems. So the thing is, I already made all my artwork assets and they are kinda huge, so...

Military, war, apocalypse, dystopia...
Which of these settings do you prefer? I know they often get mixed together in a story, but which individual one are you the most interested in? Mine is definitely military, a story from the perspective of an organized armed forces, with a good dose of psychology and drama...

Good story but decent art
As the title of the subjects says, I'm just curious if people in general are gonna drop a visual novel even if the story is good because of the meh to decent artwork. Would you drop a good story because the artwork style is too distracting?

Re: Looking for a free to use explosion effect
Itchio has a lot of game assets available to use (made by various artists, so be sure to check the licence and terms of use for each) on this page. I was able to find this free/name-your-own-price explosion pack (by ansimuz) that uses a cell-shaded/pixelated style. Thank you, but pixelated isn't re...

How to remove the weird rainbow-like pattern?
I am making an animation for my visual novel using anime studio. When I render the images, everything seems fine, but once the video is done being publish, these weird pattern appear and I don't know what is causing them. Anyone here who knows how to fix this? I think it's just a color problem based...

Re: long build up vs short grabbing
I'd say it all comes down to the story. If we're talking about an action story like from Hollywood or shojo, then you don't want to keep the audience waiting for anything to finally happen. With a fantasy story f.e. you could make an event that brings the group together or a raiding party burning d...
