Re: Chat on this site
Think of it as some Dark Alley situated between tall buildings where suspicious shady people hang in there offering you everything from Weed to Cough Syrup to Smuggled Gummi Bears... also jerks... yes, even though it's mostly quiet in there most of the time, weird things can and has happened in #re...

Re: Opinion on 3D Backgrounds
The uncanny valley would, in my opinion, rather be a good render where you still see from miles away that it is neither a photograph, nor a drawing (aka not even having the "what is it made with?" moment). A example could be this from "The Secret World" (http://www.buffed.de/scr...

The doors didn't turn out as well as the walls.
I added the raw renders to the zip file so you can see if you can re-cut them a little better.

Re: First Person vs Third Person
And if it is something off screen, you can still use the first person's voice to give a description and characterization at the same time. "The last time I saw Michelle at one of these parties she was in a green dress-thing with fru-fru stuff around the legs." vs "At least Michelle wa...

Re: First Person vs Third Person
I think first person perspective is something like this "You decided to eat" or "You fell down the stairs". (Hope i'm not wrong) Using "You" in that way is Second Person. First person would be like the main character is telling you a story: "I decided to eat...

My brain is mush so I'm making backgrounds. http://www.thecatsweb.com/copper/albums/userpics/10001/station_001.jpg Buildings created by Uncle Mugen. Made using Sketchup and Gimp with a touch of ComiPo! for the mockup. http://www.thecatsweb.com/copper/albums/userpics/10001/station_combo.jpg Free (as ...

Re: First Person vs Third Person
What about some Second Person viewpoint love? Poor Second Person feels so left out.
I like Second Person viewpoint in simulation type games. (e.g. You are running a TV station, a Cruise Line.)
Second Person goes and hides back in the corner.
