Re: Plotting: How long does it take you?
Gosh, this one is tough. Takes about a week or two to come up with a general story arc, along with flow charts, general characters, and plot points. The hard part about writing mysteries is making sure your twists and evidence make sense on don't trip over each other, also, making believable evil ch...

Re: How to outline and update displayable text
I think you'll want to try out AnimatedValue for the bar: http://www.renpy.org/doc/html/screen_actions.html#values There's totally a way to do the text changing value as well, using timers like you said. I don't have the chance to try something out now. You might want to check out the timer cookbook...

Mostly video game OSTs. Currently listening to lots of the new Smash Bros music, there's lots of inspirational songs there.

Re: Placing images in the choices buttons
This is really nice! If you want to have it so you can have multiple images in your button, like for instance, arrows up or down after a character, you can do something similar to this: if action: $ finder = caption[caption.find("(")+1:caption.find(")")] $ finderList = finder.spl...

Re: How to put images in choice buttons?
@philat - Ah nice! Your search-fu is very strong. I searched for an hour and didn't find anything, so I figured I'd roll my own. I like that solution much better. I'll see if I can make it work. @Pippin123, I'm trying to have more than one image in the button. Creating all the different images for a...

Re: Perceptions of the Dead - [NanoReno15] [Horror][Action]
This is really well done, the camera movement and voice acting really brings you into the story. All the graphics, sound and GUI are top notch. Looking forward to an expanded story, to see what you can do with this set up.

How to put images in choice buttons? [FIXED]
Hi All, So I'm trying to put images in the buttons that go in the "Choice" screen so that players will know who their choices affect. I couldn't figure out how to do that, so I made my own choices screen, with classes that show the choices and such: ########################################...

Re: Unskippable images for a short animation
EDIT: Gah! Split second ninja'd!
Whenever I'm setting up animations I don't want to be skipped, I use this right after the animation:
$ renpy.pause(2.0, hard=True)
"hard" means that clicks don't stop the pause. There is probably better ways out there to do this, but it works for me.

Re: Help with multiple endings?
You could always go with the Telltale way of doing that by saying "[Character] will remember that" which is pretty ambiguous about whether your choice was correct or not.

Damn, that PNGGauntlet is pretty good Backgrounds are about half the size, and sprites are about 80% of the size. That's really helpful!
