Colour: Above or Below Shading? (digital)
I've seen a few techniques where you shade everything in greyscale first, and then add the colour in later, usually on top or below the shading layer. Obviously, it's more of a personal choice. I tend to shade on multiply above my colour (I use CS6 btw), and play around with colours, although someti...

Re: Epsilon ~Prelude~ [Adventure, Fantasy, Action]
1. What are your thoughts on the story? Does it interest you? 2. Does the character art look pleasing to you? Do you like the designs thus far? 3. What kind of plot are you hoping to see in this game? 4. Would you be interested in playing the game? I like the story so far - It sounds very interesti...

I can certainly try!HiddenCreature wrote:Since you've gotten elves on my mind, can you do Zelda's Link? Half of his face normal Link, the other half Dark Link with a wicked smile? I've never seen that before.
(Out of curiosity, does this site have a mention feature?)

I tried to do the 28 day monster challenge.
Made day one.
Still, pretty proud of this guy.

Ash's Art [Critique's and Requests Welcome]
I figured there's no harm in having an art thread.. especially since all my art on here (deep within the depths of old threads) was horrendous. Anatomy, facial structure, all whack! I recently got a tablet, and I'm very impressed with the results. I'm still fiddling with my style, but so far I'm qui...

Re: The issue of leaning left: Tips and Tricks?
Thanks everyone!
I do a lot of that already - profiles are a lot easier to get right than full bodies, so that's something to practise.

The issue of leaning left: Tips and Tricks?
I have this horrible habit of always drawing my sprites leaning a little to the left - even when I use guides. It's not noticeable until I flip it of course, but it still looks horribly awkward. So to fix that... I don't draw sprites \o/ But I want to get better at posing, because just drawing portr...

Woah, been a while
Woah, hi guys! Should I have posted this in the guestbook? Probably >.> It's been something like... four years? I think since I've been on here? Kind of missed the community. Unfortunately my old WIP has been cut - I haven't spoken to the artist at all in that time, and we both lost all the art that...

Re: Ideas Dump
So I was sitting down the other day, watching Ouran and lamenting my love life, and I thought to myself, damn, I would love to play an Ouran dating game. I probably wouldn't be able to tackle this myself, I'd probably write a few paths myself. I highly doubt it would be able to be made because of co...

Re: The Gardener Did It! (I Did Not!) [bl][mystery][comedy?]
Oh god that menu screen is WAY too pretty and bright for this. It's only temporary though, unless you guys think I should change it? Maybe I should find an image of a garden or something. Anyway, there's also another screenshot of those two (Goddamnit I love them far too much). Once I feel polite en...

Re: Amount of info the protag has at the beginning.
Generally when I play a Vn or Kn I consider myself the protag anyway. Other people might not do that. It just adds a sense of realism I guess.

Re: Amount of info the protag has at the beginning.
Knowing nothing from the start and finding out at the same time as the player does seem more realistic to me. Generally, if you think about it, the protag might know a bit about the goings on, but they wouldn't have a feel idea (if they knew exactly what would happen I'd find it rather boring). If t...

Re: Artist for hire! (Free)
Hey there! I'm looking for a CG artist for my game, The Gardener Did It!
Your style is adorable (and who cares if it's different from the style of the sprites). It's not a particularly long game, and it's BxB.
The link's in my signature, if you want to check it out.

Re: Best Anime Ever Watched?
Best so far has got to be either SnK or Mononoke. Mononoke has a pretty weak ending though, but since I'ts just a spinoff from Samurai Horror Tales (which I haven't seen) I guess it's understandable. Funnily enough I didn't like Madoka Magica. I made it through like, 10 of the episodes (I know, I al...
