Re: Naming characters, avoiding the same first letter?
I really only get characters confused if they look and act too similar, names don't really throw me off so much. I could easily read something with two characters named "Ann" and "Anne" and not blink an eye so long as my mental picture of them is unique enough. Honestly what woul...

Re: VN's Without Narration
The characters either have to over-explain things that they already know (as other people already say) or leave details out. That's also a good point. I think it can definitely be done without characters over explaining details or leaving things out, but it would be harder to do. Natural dialogue i...

Re: VN with dogs as protagonists, trouble finding style
Yunou, I think that is closer to what I'm looking for! I'm definitely looking for something with bold lines. Your picture reminds me a little of Okami, that kind of storybook feel or traditional japanese paintings. I've done some searching on Deviant Art and found a few styles I like hopefully I ca...

Re: Solemn Dirge [BL] [Fantasy/Religious themes]
Thank you for the wonderful feedback. :D Like I've just said, world building is my specialty, and I tend to overdo it in a lot of cases. So it's nice to be told to be kept in check! I've edited the summary to include a bit more details. I'm trying to keep it ~mysterious~ and refrain from spoilers w...

Re: VN's Without Narration
I'd definitely read a VN without any narration. I've always been a big fan of third person VNs so completely relying on dialogue-only wouldn't be off-putting at all to me. What I enjoy about visual novels is the creative freedom of them--you can have static or moving backgrounds, you can use video, ...

Re: VN with dogs as protagonists, trouble finding style
I am awful at drawing animals--especially animals with distinct emotions. But the first thing that came to my mind for this kind of project would be a very stylized, bold-lined, colour-pop type image. I did a super quick sketch of what I mean. Maybe this could help? http://i.imgur.com/DZ0P8AN.png I ...

Re: Voice Snippets vs Voice Over
I know this is an older post but, since it's already been revived, I'll throw in my two cents. I honestly prefer voice snippets over full voice over when it comes to visual novels. I read way faster than characters can be voiced, so I'll typically end up cutting the voice over off as I click through...

Re: Solemn Dirge [BL] [Fantasy/Religious themes]
Is the concept interesting to you? Yes--this is pretty much right up my ally when it comes to genres. I love the character designs/personalities as well. This is a kinetic novel, with a planned fandisk for the other characters. Out of all the characters, who would you like to date (as Apollo)? I'd ...

Re: Similarities between VNs
Also, Everything is a Remix Even stories that people describe as "original" can often be compared to other works. The difference between a perceived "remix" and a "rip-off" is that the creator takes already used ideas and does something that feels different than previo...

Re: The Sins of Pandora [B/G/N X B/G/N][Modern/Fantasy/Roman
I like any kind of god-type story, so this could be really fun. I don't think there is enough description here, though, for me to give any real input. My suggestion is that you could have the group of college kids be Classics majors so they'll already be a bit familiar with the parents of the romanc...

Re: Opening with a hentai scene, in a non-hentai-without-plo
You could easily accomplish what you need to accomplish characterization-wise without using overly graphic sexual imagery. I wrote an opening scene similar to this one once for similar purposes--the character abused drugs, alcohol, and casual sex for escapism so an opening scene in which they are en...
