Re: Making VN Trailers

FRAPS works pretty well for screen recording, it's been awhile since I used them so I don't know if they are still around. They use to have a free trial. For making trailers you'll probably want something like Adobe Premier or Sony Creation Studio. These are not free by any means. I'm sure there are...

Re: I've seen a lot of Otome VNs here? Are there no male gam

A payoff doesn't have to be explicit scenes - for some games, uncovering the dateable character's mysteries and getting them to like you is payoff enough. Even though I'm female, I still like playing as a male who dates females, but dislike explicit scenes. Correct. The payoff doesn't need to be ex...

Re: I've seen a lot of Otome VNs here? Are there no male gam

What are people's thoughts on having a VN that has a nameable male protagonist that DOES NOT have any nudity or explicit scenes in it - but with dateable female characters? I think if the VN focuses on the dating elements, then people like me would just grow bored if there is no payoff at the end. ...

Re: What size should I aim for the character portraits in VN

HD resolution nowadays usually means 1920 x 1080 minimum. Most new monitors you buy will support this. VNs are usually lower res than that for a variety of reasons, and people who play VNs will tolerate as low as 800x600. There is no "standard" portrait size. It really depends on how you i...

Re: Love in Space looking for Lead Programmer

Your project intrigues me, but the details on this "battle system" are sparse. Can you elaborate? I don't have many hours to spare every week, but I am proficient in python.

Re: Seeking character artist (Unpaid)

You may need to flesh out your system and plot more before you convince anyone to sign on. I read your character profiles, but nothing jumps out as immediately interesting plot-wise. What happens to these people? Why is this idea interesting?

Re: My stats say: Story over Gameplay

I had noticed that the number of Adult VN creators has dropped -- significantly. I am curious. Did there use to be a lot, and where did they all go? Also, if I may add another possibility to this discussion: Gameplay heavy adult games are harder to play one-handed. I also bet people would DL an ero...

Re: Experience Exporting to Android

If your game was written in Renpy, then there already exists a tool to make porting to android easier. It's called RAPT. You may see it mentioned elsewhere in this forum. If your game was written in something else, then that is going to make things much harder. You potentially have to rewrite the en...

Re: Renpy.image doesn't take names start with numbers

By convention, Python and most sane programming languages do not allow names and labels to begin with a number. Since renpy is based on Python, those rules probably carried over naturally. It is not a bug, just a design choice. One that would probably make many programmer's minds explode if changed.

Re: RAPT - Ren'Py Android Packaging Tool

Re: Making Anime in Japan

Your post reminds me a lot of this show (Animation Runner Kuromi): http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1146 The problem is there are far more artists seeking work than there are good jobs for them. They are easily replaced so employers see no problem with extracting maximum ben...
