Re: Why most visual novels stay as demos for so long.
I'm not a KS expert (I plan to start using it however) but if you have a track record of finishing games or you can show very nice artwork, you don't even need a demo to get some good funding ($20k+ and up). Well, mostly if you do adult VNs

Re: Ren'Py 7.3.5 Released
I have experienced a different behavior with same code, I was using 7.2- something before (I can't remember it sorry). It's some kind of ATL/alignment issue. I have this transform code: transform cd_transform: # This is run before appear, show, or hide. xcenter 1.15 ypos 0.01 alpha 0.0 on appear: li...

Re: Are dating sims just an excuse for porn?
As other said, there are many dating sim WITHOUT sex. Those with NSFW *usually* sell a lot better. But it all depends on quality. You can have a poorly written/drawn NSFW that won't sell and a cute/fluffy dating sim well written and drawn that will sell a lot. And I disagree that an artist drawing N...

Re: Normal or Fishy VN Company?
I've worked with A LOT of writers, and I've never asked such thing. A test scene yes, but 2000 words long seems a bit excessive. As for the pay, I think 8 cents / word is more than what 99% of indies doing VNs could afford (doing some simple math with an average length of 80-90k words plus original ...

Yes it's simply not worth the time! And imagine during a beta of a RPG with 3-4 updates each day... lol insane

Re: MacOS Catalina - Releasing on Steam
Or simply ignore MacOS completely. 90% of indie devs I know, including myself, are going to do it. Some of them earning six figures a year so would be definitely worthwhile to do a mac port, but they still can't be bothered to do all this mess just to have our grace Mac decide to allow us running th...

Re: MacOS Catalina
The 90% of indie developers are just going to dump mac support. I know at least 10 major indie devs who quit, and some are using macs as their development platform... lol

Re: Is is Worth to Release Your Game on Steam to Reach Wider Audience?
Gog refused my VN/RPGs as well (several years ago). So like all super-curated store, it really seems random depending on who looks at your game (like was Steam before Greenlight/open).

Re: a warning about Google Play
I have no clue, but when I showed them an article/review and Steam page of 5 years older they understood that "maybe" I made that game way before it showed up on their store :) Another time they banned an app because "I was showing inappropriate ads to minors". NONE of my apps ha...

Re: a warning about Google Play
Nah, I don't have time to waste honestly! Also in the end it's their store so they can do what they want. I'll focus my efforts on desktop only from now on.

Re: a warning about Google Play
I could find games promoting violence (real one, not just two sprites with zero blood on them) in 2 second search on Google Play...sniping games where you take down men, etc with realistic 3d art. Not posting links because I don't like that. Double standards?

Re: a warning about Google Play
Google doesn't host games rated R18, their highest rating they allow is MA15. Well anyway, I guess a woman in bikini should be allowed at any age? :D This was one of the images for why they removed my game... https://i.imgur.com/wrWFIpu.png same image was fine on Amazon Appstore and itunes. Anyway,...

Re: a warning about Google Play
Nope, that didn't matter. Basically all my games were rated 18 (I exaggerated on purpose since there wasn't even any nudity) but still they removed them.
