Re: cedes' art thread // crit welcome!!

I think your work is very expressive and full of personality! I like how you experiment with uncommon skin color for your characters. As for improvement, aside from some miss on the anatomy, I think it'll be great if you could take more time in refining shapes in your drawing, like wings on those gl...

Re: What genres to draw for Otome/Visual Novel?

Idol and monster theme sound good but it also won't hurt to prepare the more common one in the set so people who want to create story in normal-everyday setting can still use them too. I think east asian theme is quite popular too for otome? And I've also seen a lot of thirst for handsome male in fa...

Re: Poor Sound Design or No Sounds?

Joining the discussion, I definitely prefer to wait until the game is finish and solid, with everything is in place and working properly, before playing the game. I honestly don't get it why you'd release another version with sound effect in it, like, why not just release everything at once?? It fee...

Re: Please Critique My 3D Art (DAZ Studio, GIMP, BeFunky)

Oh if the scene happened in the middle of moving in, then the emptiness it's understandable. Probably add stack of boxes and some messiness here and there so viewer can see that she's in the middle of moving in/out? And she's a college girl?? I though she's like, mid schooler at least? Mainly becaus...

Re: Please Critique My 3D Art (DAZ Studio, GIMP, BeFunky)

The first image looks better, even though you can push it even further, but you're going in the right direction nonetheless! The second image honestly feels overdone with all those unnecessary texture, so definitely go with the first image. Although, as I said, you can push it further to better show...

Re: Please Critique My 3D Art (DAZ Studio, GIMP, BeFunky)

I'm also not a 3D artist, so I'm gonna give some advice on composition and visual on general. First thing I notice is the lighting. It might require more advance skill, but good lighting can really evocate feel and mood that usually lack in 3D model. Like the first picture of a girl in a bedroom. If...

Re: GUI Artist's Block

If you're looking for feedback for your GUI design, I suggest post some screenshot here so we can give you better advice and/or critique. That being said, artist block usually happens when you think too much. Take a step back, take a rest, play a game, do other things except working on your project ...

These sketches are wonderful! I personally like the style of these sketches more than your usual one with bold black line as this one feels more natural. It's nice to see how you improve from time to time! Keep up the good work!

I remember the old 'Tokimeki Memorial 2' has a little bit of exploring element if that's what you're looking for. https://www.video-games-museum.com/en/screenshots/Playstation/3/38882-ingame-Tokimeki-Memorial-2.png 'Number Days Dating Sims' by Pacthesis also has similar exploring element. The game i...

Re: Looking for a interactive pen display drawing tablet?

What's wrong with your current pen tablet? Artisul and xp-pen both have notable cintiq alternative with only third the price of cintic, but honestly, since I only use old wacom bamboo and old intuos pro so far, I can't really speak about them although I'd love to hear experience from those who have ...

Re: How to keep artists committed?

Whoa Mutive, I'll have to say something regarding filing claim. While it convenient for the commissioner, it can be REALLY damaging to the artist especially if commissioner doesn't communicate (aka gives warning) about it beforehand. If the case is you give the money to the artist, but then afterwar...
