Re: SRRT! [Comedy][Sci-Fi]
S R R T! I'm having such a fun time. I've got 4 endings so far but I'll definitely keep playing till I get them all - which is unusual for me. I think the focus on comedy helps with the pacing! I've already had to laugh out loud on a number of times XD Music and style/polish is amazing as you'd exp...

Re: LIFEPLUS+ [SuNoFes17]
Hey, just wanted to say I played this and enjoyed it! :) It took me about 20 minutes to find the gem. I really liked the idea of using a tile game as the basis for telling a story. And the sound and visuals were all appropriately glitchy. I've only played through once, but I'm curious if the dialogu...

Re: How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?
If you want to get really specific about it, you could argue that nobody's ever made a full VN by themselves. You're using Ren'Py (which someone created), written in Python (which someone else created), on a computer (which someone else created). :D But I think the actual helpful answer is to do wha...

I DIDN'T REALIZE THIS HAD COME OUT WHILE I WAS AWAY. I really need to figure out PayPal so I can play this. ^_^ Congrats on the release! Thanks, Zelan! :D (Also, feel free to contact me here or by PM if you have problems with figuring out the itch.io download, and I'll see if there's anything I can...

Re: Visual Decision-Tree Software?
Twine is a good (and free) option. I've used it, and I know some other VN makers use it too. Also, this might just be the way my brain works, but sometimes I find that even just pencil and paper can be a good option? Using software like Twine has advantages, but sometimes I like the flexibility of ...

Re: What are the big NOs of writing
I think the advice "Omit needless words" from The Elements of Style is pretty good universal advice. Like, this is going to sound dumb, but I think the best way to make a story not-boring is to just... not be boring? To just be constantly aware of what each part of the story is doing and n...

Re: Sculptures as game art
There are a few narrative indie games that use claymation. I can think of Beeswing and Sluggish Morss off the top of my head. It's not a filter -- those are actually sculpted from clay and then photographed. (Some special effects are added in after.) A VN with static images would probably even be ea...

Re: What are legit pose references?
Just to add another option: if you use a public domain photo or video for reference (and there's nothing in it that would be copyrighted or otherwise protected by law), you can usually copy it, trace it, or modify it in any way you like (since no one has any copyright claim over public domain art). ...

I am so amused that this takes place in Pennsylvania and I've been to all those places. I can't even. XD Thanks for givin' my poor underrated state some love! Thanks! I'm originally from PA myself and think the state gets kind of a bad rep because so many people people only see it when they're driv...

Re: The Invincible Protagonist
It sounds like you might already have stuff figured out by now, Twoflower, but if you want a good example of an invincible protagonist, just look at Superman. You know he's going to succeed, you know he's not going to die (or at least not die permanently), but the best Superman stories still make yo...

I keep seeing this and forgetting to post!!! Honestly, this idea sounds like the funniest thing to me and I love it. I'm going to clear up my day to play through your other games to because they sound so funny and good. I'll be awaiting the release on this one! And I'm oddly in love with the theme ...

Re: B.A.T. [Simulation, Drama, Comedy | NaNo 2017]
Cool game! I used the nickname Bruce Wayne because he is a very normal person who definitely does not have any sort of weird hang-ups regarding bats. It is nearly midnight where I live, and since I'm not a bat caretaker, I should probably be sleeping soon, but I wanted to post a few thoughts ...
