Re: Selling out (theoretical discussion only)

Actually I hypothesize* a lot of lesbians would welcome games where the story isn't about the homosexuality. I don't believe gay people define their relationships by it being gay rather than it being about the other person . Or in the very least, given the chance to by society. Straight people get s...

Re: Commission prices?

I'm hesitant to raise prices because some of my customers have expressed that young artists don't deserve to be payed normal rates. These customers are jerks. The customer doesn't tell you how much you should be charging them; they pay your rates or they find someone else. Anyone who acts otherwise...

Re: Selling out (theoretical discussion only)

We're working on a big commerical GxG release - don't worry, the Yuri Revolution is at hand! We'll brave the first wave if we must! I think the contest idea is a pretty good one though. It would do more than just add more GxG to the mix, I think this could be made into an exciting event like NaNoRen...

Re: Alternative to VAA?

Well okay, I did have a URL in my signature, but anyone who read my post would know that's because I'm a producer . I mean, you'd be giving the robots too much credit when if my post talks about voice acting and producing visual novels and being a member of VAA and that URL links to an indie visual ...

Re: Alternative to VAA?

This is making me reconsider becoming active on VAA again . . . and just when I thought I had enough courage for it. :( I had an account there ages ago to try to get myself some experience. I didn't meet with any success, but I made and lost a friend there (it's a long and painful story; I doubt an...

Re: Alternative to VAA?

No, it was definitely a moderator's doing. There was a moderator browsing the board just as I was banned. And I tried to get in contact with them, but recieved no response.

[ Greeny swivels chair, turns to face Ayu and Voiceiyuu ] "I've been expecting you." [ cue Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D Minor, lightning strikes in the background ] Are you planning on handling all the casting, direction, and actor management on your own, or are you looking for a castin...

Alternative to VAA?

You could say I'm a proponent of more voice acting in VNs, and I've already had the announcement made that my next project, In Orbit will have full voice acting. I'm planning to start auditions as soon as I finish one route completely. There's just one problem... the Voice Acting Alliance . [ cue Ba...

Re: Editor, Proofreader and Researcher for hire!

A 300k script is also quite a substantial Visual Novel. I worry sometimes that VNs these days are going for quantity over quality of story...

Anyways I ran my numbers again, and they check out.
So I guess I'm just pitching in to vouch for a certain financial make-sense?

Re: Editor, Proofreader and Researcher for hire!

Sounds like you really know what you're doing! Just one thing, I ran some quick numbers... at your pace, it will take you an entire year to edit a medium-sized Visual Novel. I thought you might want to know.

Re: Cooperation with proofreader

And as kaleidofish wrote, the game itself could be distracting... I don't know about Novelty, but in Ren'Py it's actually pretty easy to read in its basic form. But then, I'm operating on the assumption that I'll be asking my editor and proofreaders to read the script file; so I haven't done any co...

Re: Cooperation with proofreader

Just so you know, copying the script from the Ren'Py file to a word document, and then putting it back in with corrections, is basically the fourth circle of Hell.

So yeah. I make my proofreaders go over the Ren'Py document. (Although I do ask them to make notes rather than change anything.)

Re: In Orbit [GxG Otome] [Romance/Sci-fi]

Um, when I made that reference to the Mass Effect 3 ending, it mas more of a joke pertaining to the true scope of the ending going unappreciated... there will be no choices nullified, no untimely character deaths, no colorful choices (ending will feature NO choices - you'll have to ride along on you...
