Re: Tying Threads
I liked this visual novel. The "special effects", like going from grayscale to color, were well-done. I dunno if I could call it fun, tough, since it was kinda sad at times. I don't know if this is a spoiler or not, but I'll mark it as such... It has to do with the nature of the endings, ...

Re: Tying Threads
I would have liked to see Allen too at some point but perhaps not seeing him is good too, I can make up my own version of him in my mind. Well, you do see Allen... the back of his head anyway. The main menu and game menu backgrounds are actually sketches of Allen. I suppose the back of the head doe...

Tying Threads
After leaving behind everyone he had ever known to attend a new middle school, Allen learns the harsh reality that he can never again regain what he has lost. The rift between himself and others has become too large to overcome. And the expanse only widens, day by day. As the years pass by, Allen fa...

lint detects font error
I just switched over to Renpy 6.5.0, and everything runs great! Except... Lint is now giving me an error. Ren'Py 6.5.0e lint report, generated at: Sat Jan 05 13:33:22 2008 Style property style.say_label uses file 'subfont', which is not loadable. I was previously using Renpy 6.3.0, and lint generate...

GUI interface for writing interactive novels
Ok, so I'm in a Human Computer Interface class, and for the last assignment of the semester my team has decided to develop a GUI interface for writing interactive novels. BIG DISCLAIMER: There is no promise that this project will come to fruition- it may just end up being an empty shell interface, w...

The game is about 30 minutes- not quite a microgame. I think matching style is what I'm going for, hoping it will be less of contrast, and distract the player less. I don't mind it having a bit of an incomplete look as I think the game is incomplete. But simply having a black screen is too incomplet...

Yeah, I think I'm pretty set on the direction I'm heading. Though, I'm not sure exactly what I should do for the missing BGs right now... Right now I'm considering two options: 1- Use the placeholder graphics I've been using up til now (which happen to be filtered images). Plus side is they look goo...

I don't want to edit the game content to accommodate missing graphics. I want to be able to upgrade to the complete version simply by adding the missing graphics. I almost want to aim for the incomplete look for now. Because that's how I will always view the game until snowshine finishes it. Plus, t...

mikey pretty much hit the nail on the head- on all accounts. Indeed, snowshine is my artist for this project. And yeah, I had posted some of her images in this thread- but that was when I was still contemplating asking another artist to finish the rest of the art I needed. After I decided that I did...

Should I just finish it and release? My dilemma...
I have a bit of a dilemma... I don't think my artist will be able to finish the art I need for my project. They may be able to do it eventually, but not now. And I've been sitting on this almost complete project for quite some time. I greatly respect the artist I've been working with, and I really w...

I find this to be a nice little game- especially considering it's extremely rapid construction. There were several times where the characters' expressions matched perfectly (particularly the bedroom scene). And there were several nice touches that just made the game feel... bigger than it was. One r...

Tests, reading assignments, programming assignments... what's the deal?! School is definitely going to be taking time away from my being able to work on my project >_< . I'm worried this week won't be as productive as I'd like- but I think I'll still manage... somehow... absinthe >> Instead of anima...
